The bulb works perfectly. The bulb is packaged perfectly. The LED bulb is the same size as the incandescent bulb it replaced. This bulb is very DIM. This bulb, my opinion, is way to WARM (color temperature). It puts out the light inside the refrigerator as if a candle were inside the fridge. If the LEDs were cooler, (more blue, closer to 5000K) the light would be BRIGHTER at the same power.

If you want to save power, and heat, in your refrigerator with a very dim warm light then buy it. If you want the light of two small candles in your fridge then I suggest you do NOT buy it.

I replaced the 2 40w incandescent bulbs in my 2006 side by side Kenmore refrig with these LEDs. The LEDs provided nice light, but 12 hours later we discovered or refrig was not working. Prior to purchasing these LEDs, I had read the reviews and one review had stated that LG said not to use LEDs as they had adverse effects on the refrig's electrical controls. I reinstalled the original bulbs and the refrig started up and has run perfectly for the past 6 weeks.

Edit: Sept. 8th. The manufacturer was very responsive and has refunded our money. They have not had any other similar complaints.

It is a low power led that works just fine. The important part is that the base is narrow like an appliance light, which is why you a normal LED might not work (normal LED bulb didn't fit in mine, so I was thrilled to find this light)

I read a review that it is dim. Yup, low power is not as bright as 25 to 45 watts. But I merely took off the light diffuser and voila! It is just about as bright and there's even some good ol' glare.

REMEMBER -this is NOT for the oven. Just the fridge.

At first I was a bit disappointed by the fact that this light is less bright than the incandescent that it replaced. But after a few weeks I don even remember what it was like, and it works perfectly well. I can see everything that's in the fridge and it doesn't get hot if I keep the door open for more that a few seconds like the old one did. I would burn my hand with the lights if I accidentally ouched it after being open for a couple of minutes. It makes me think that suddenly, no other kind of light makes sense to be used inside a refrigerator, so I think it is excellent! Hope it last as much as it claims. We'll see.
