I bought one of these flashlights years ago and it works great, definitely worth the money. I recently bought four more from Sports Chalet that have a new design on how to operate it. The 'new' design I am referring to is where you press the button to cycle between the high and low setting and hold the button down for a few seconds to turn it off. The old design is where you press the button to go from high to low to off. While camping one weekend I realized during the night that the LED was slightly on. It emitted enough light for me to see it shining on the wall. The flashlight was off at the time and it was still emitting light.

I inspected the other three flashlights and they all had the same problem. I went back and exchanged the flashlights for four more. After inspecting them they all, but one had the same problem too. The one without the problem didn't give a constant beam of light, but a flickering one. As long as the batteries were in the flashlight the LED emits a feint glow that cannot be turned off. Why would anyone want a flashlight that is constantly draining your batteries? At first a few flashlight didn't have the problem, but after a few hours they did. I expect the one flashlight that didn't have this problem would have had it eventually.

Like I said, my older Amp 3.5 flashlight works great and I would like to buy more, but there is a design flaw in the newer versions. Until this problem is fixed do not buy this flashlight. It isn't a coincidence that eight Princeton Tec Amp 3.5 flashlights all have the exact same problem, it's a design flaw. I like the Princeton Tec brand, but it's disappointing that they designed the flashlight with such a flaw.

First one, then a month later, BOTH of these flashlights started rapidly blinking in the low beam, then in high beam. We tried changing batteries, cleaning the contacts, didn't work. This company always had a rep for excellent lights/flashlights, WTH happened? I am very disappointed...

I've had many flashlights, but never one so small that is so bright!

Love that it has a high & low beam. It shines up to 75 meters, approximately 245 feet!

Definately worth the higher price!

Princeton Tec led flash lights are life time warranty in u.s.a . i have had Princeton Tec led for last 6 years . returned one led light (stopped working) Princeton Tec replaced no questions ask. i am very pleased with Princeton Tec. for being plastic an a few electronics an led bulb they are way over priced not only Princeton Tec but all flash light esp mag light no life time warranty. so i figured i bought 4 or 5 mag lights they all quit working (on off switch ect). getting a flash light with life time warranty and getting 50 or so hours before needing to replace battery's.Princeton Tec will be the last flash we will ever need to buy.

GOD bless you always.

Works good 2 beams. low beam is ok for stuff in your lap etc. high beam is much brighter than expected, I would say as good as my mag light 4 d cell flashlight. Beam is not adjustable wide to narrow angle.

It is not some $50.00 flash light, it is under 20 bucks.

Plenty bright for night (dark, dark) hiking, or to get me to the campsite showers.

Light weight and rugged. I have dropped mine several times.

My pack with the flashlight fell about 15 feet, the light stayed on and had no functional problems.

The batteries are REAL HARD to install; Take off the top, drop them in, close the top. Very confusing!!!
