When I read the ad about these light bulbs, I was lead to believe that they would be a lot brighter than they are. I was very disappointed in how little light comes from them.

These bulbs may be OK if you just want some glow-ey things, but they are too dim to provide actual illumination...which, if I'm not mistaken, is what people usually use lightbulbs for. The strip over our bathroom mirror has 8 sockets, and with 8 of these installed you have to squint, and use a flashlight, to really see yourself in the mirror. GE is way behind the curve on LED lights; go look at Philips LEDs, instead.

Seriously, where's the light? They're cool if you want a low-watt decorative bulb, but don't buy them if you want light. 25 watt incandescent light bulbs are much brighter. Maybe this is why they don't mention the lumens output. A 25 watt incandescent light puts out 150 lumens. These put-out 60 lumens. (No wonder why this wasn't put in the technical details.) Don't buy!

Honest reviews on GE Lighting 76450 Energy Smart LED 2-Watt (10-watt replacement)

I thought that I finally found a mini globe which was LED or CFL to replace the incandescent bulbs in my hallway fixture, which takes 3 bulbs. The bulbs that I wanted replace were of the same GE brand (25 watts each). I was a little worried when I saw that the LED bulbs only used 2 watts each. I wasn't too concern about the brightness. The three bulbs combined output was about equivalent to a 40 watts incandescent bulb. I just hate the color the bulbs gave...cold industrial white. Needless to say my search continue. In hindsight, it would have been cheaper to just to replace the light fixture.

The amount of light these bulbs produce is MUCH less than I had expected. The color is a bit "whiter" than a standard globe light, but it is not industrial white. Some may find it appealing, while others may not. Also, the packaging states the bulbs are "Made for General Electric in China". The country of origin and manufacturer is important for some so I thought I'd put it out there.
