This item does not carry the Underwriters Laboratory's "UL" mark. It DOES carry Underwriters Laboratory's Recognized Component mark. (The mark looks like a backwards R followed by a U. In essence, an item that carries the Recognized Component mark is an item that has been tested by Underwriters Laboratory but which cannot carry the UL mark because it is intended to be used as a part inside a product that is UL approved. According to Underwriters Laboratory, consumers are not intended to see this mark.To get a better understanding, look about halfway down the document below for the Recognized Component mark:
Best Deals for MEANWELL UL Component Waterproof 60 Watt LED Power Supply Driver
This affordable 60W power supply is made by a reputational manufacture, Mean Well. I have used a lot of them for Light Emitting Diodes (LED) lighting applications in commercial projects where UL certification is the requirement.Pros:
Price --Very affordable for 60W capacity
UL ---A UL certified power component is necessary for all industrial, commercial and residential projects for safety purposes.
Warranty --It comes with 2 year warranty, which can be easily processed with MeanWell in CA.
Input Voltage --The wide input voltage, 90 264 VAC, can allow it to be used for both 120 VAC and 220 VAC with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz.
Water Proof ---The power supply is fully isolated with IP67 rated.
Protection ---There is a built-in fault protection. After I remove the short of DC output, the power supply starts working again.
Working Temperature ---This device can well perform outdoor from temperature range of -22F to 150F.
Weight /Size/Construction -----It is light with plastic encapsulations. The size is nice and much smaller than other bulky 60W power supplies. With built-in screw holes at the corners, it can be securely mounted to a tiny place.
Things to consider:
I broke a couple of the power supplies by connecting external 120 VAC to its DC output. You have to be very cautious to connect its AC input to external 120 V.
Cons:
Low Power Factor ---It does not have built-in PFC system to improve power factor.
Restrictions --Cannot be exposed to sun light directly when used outdoor. Cannot be submersible.
Overall, I highly recommend this power supply for LED lighting projects and other applications used by 12 VDC.
