The lights are great, but the weakness is the plastic stakes. They break off easy, and then there is a good chance that the fixture will break when it hits the ground.
HERE IS THE SOLUTION: Buy a 10ft length of Schedule 40 1/2 inch PVC pipe (about $2-$3). Cut into lengths of 16 inches and angle cut one end to create a new stake. Hammer the new PVC stake where you want it about 6 inches into the ground, discard the old stake, and then slide the light riser over the new stake. The new stake will never break, and if someone (or the dog) brushes against the light, it will just spin. PROBLEM SOLVED!

The lamps look great in my yard, so far. Two of the black stakes that fit into the vertical stake shattered with barely any force on them. One I just barely bumped. They are too wide for other stake points from other lights to fit into unfortunately. I bought mine at Home Depot. The cheap lights from Walmart are sturdier than these. Will try to get replacements. UPDATE: if you go to (they are the manufacturer) there is a place to order replacement stakes for this model specifically. I appreciate that it appears to be easy to remedy the problem.Best Deals for HGTV Solar Pathway Lights 8pc Set
