These two lights provide a nice even light across my entire front yard. You are not going to sit in the yard and read the paper with the level of lighting provided but it is more than adequate to allow you to illuminate anyone lurking in the yard.
The fixture is very compact (4-1/2" x 3-3/8" x 3-1/2") and appears solidly made. Since the power connection is a pigtail I needed to improvise a method to pass the wire through the 1/2" hole in the outlet box cover. I used a UF Cable connector and filled the excess space in the flat cable hole with silicone caulk.
Bottom line is this is a great product and was perfect for my application.

I opened the rear cover on the newer version of these fixtures to install a longer cord and found that the safety ground wire is not connected to anything! All 5 of this version of these lights that I received have this serious omission.Since these fixtures are all metal it is possible for the metal case to become energized due to materials defect, assembly errors, insulation failure, etc. The purpose of the safety ground wire is to protect people from shock or electrocution is this were to happen.
The original version of these lights does not have this serious flaw.
This was my original review:
Ordered 2 of these, one in white and the other in warm white to see which I preferred. The white is harsh bright white like fluorescent office lighting and is a close match to many other exterior LED fixtures. I prefer the warm white as it is very much like standard light bulbs, there is little difference between the two in perceived light output.
I ordered 10 more of the warm white and received a mix of 2 types, one has cheaper packaging, no instructions, no connector block, shorter power cords and a completely different paint finish. The original lights have a dull/flat slightly darker finish and the other apparently newer model have lighter glossy paint. Other than this mismatch these are decent little lights for the money, a pair of them replaces the light from an old 150 watt standard bulb. These are inexpensive for complete LED light fixtures, relatively solid construction, a lot of light in a small efficient package and all 12 of mine working so far. If you use a single screw to mount the bracket the lights can be easily aimed in any direction. Hard to gauge the size from the picture but they are small and fit in one hand.

I ordered a total of 6 of these lights in two separate orders in October 2012 (2 months ago). The first order was from TECHTREASURE2012. The lights being sold by TECHTREASURE2012 are a CHEAP IMITATION.The second order was from LEDwholesalers. The lights from LEDwholesalers are very well built, and I'm VERY HAPPY with the ones from LEDwholesalers.
I'm a certified electronics technician and have experience repairing mainframe computers, robotics equipment, test equipment, etc.
I took apart the lights from both sellers. The ones from TECHTREASURE2012 were made of a flimsy aluminum alloy with a thin coat of gray paint. The cord only had two wires in it (no ground!), and the power supply inside was as cheaply made as possible. It was a tiny little power supply wrapped in heat-shrink tubing and TAPED to the metal chassis of the light with double-sided tape. The whole power supply was about the size of the head of a lolly pop, not including the stick. The cord, as previously mentioned, only had two conductors in it (no ground) and was VERY SHORT.
The ones from LEDwholesalers were made of much thicker, heavier, and durable metal, with a textured coating that seems much more durable than the thin paint on the other lights mentioned above. The heat sink on these lights was also much larger than the cheap imitations from TECHTREASURE2012. The cord on the lights from LEDwholesalers was much longer, better quality, and had three conductors including a ground wire. The power supply inside the ones from LEDwholesalers was a very well-made printed circuit board that fills the entire enclosure. It was about 2.5" x 3.5" x 1", and was anchored with four screws that were screwed into the chassis with stand-offs to prevent short-circuits. The ground wire was correctly attached so that the entire metal enclosure will be grounded, provided that the installer connects the ground wire in the cord to a good ground.
I went ahead and installed all six lights, including the cheaply-made ones from TECHTREASURE2012. I didn't want to mess with returning the cheap lights from TECHTREASURE2012 at my own expense. I had to install a longer cord on one of them, because the cord was too short for the way I wanted to mount them. I mounted these cheaply-made ones (with no ground) on a grounded metal building so that the metal enclosure of the lights will be grounded via the mounting screws through the metal frame of the building, which is grounded to a copper ground-rod driven into the earth.
The light quality from all six lights is very good. The cheaply-made ones have a slightly different color than the nice ones from LEDwholesalers, but all of them are acceptable. I would say that these lights are about as bright as a 50 watt halogen flood light. I used them in groups of three to replace the existing dual 75-watt-equivalent CFL flood lights in my back yard. Before installing them, I connected all six of them (individually) to a Kill-A-Watt meter, and they do indeed draw approximately 10 watts each (ranging from 10.0 to 10.8 watts).
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase for now. I don't expect the cheaply-made lights from TECHTREASURE2012 to last very long though. The cheap construction of the metal housing, and the horribly made tiny little power supply will probably not last. Who knows how well they attached the LED's to the heat sink, which is smaller than the heat sink on the lights from LEDwholesalers.
The thing I hated about the CFL floodlights that these replaced was that they took so long to become fully bright, especially in cool weather. These LED floodlights are fully bright as soon as I flip the switch, even now that the nighttime temperatures are dropping into the 30's and 40's (F). So, these LED lights do exactly what I wanted them to do... use about the same amount of power as the CFL floodlights, with instant-on.
The lights from LEDwholesalers look like a very well-made product. My recommendation is to make sure to buy these from LEDwholesalers, and NOT from TECHTREASURE2012.
Honest reviews on Ledwholesalers 10 Watt LED Waterproof Outdoor Security Floodlight
I installed seven of these yesterday as replacements for my landscape spot-lights that keep burning out. I had to purchase 7 blank plates which I drilled a single hole in with a hole saw to install a half inch liquid-tite elbow to feed the supplied chord (which I shortened) into the box to hard-wire. I screwed the mounting bracket to the plate. I siliconed the point where the wires fed into the elbow (angled down).I sent them an e-mail to clarify the wiring which some have questioned along with the fact that they are not UL listed. This is what I asked them:
Hello,
I installed seven 10 Watt LED Waterpoof Outdoor Security Floodlights in front of my house. Amazon's web-site states the use of all three wires. Your web-site states that only the brown and blue wires are used. Which is correct? Someone on Amazon commented that the yellow/green is not connected to anything. I also read that they are not UL certified. Will this be a problem? Do they have any type of government/NEC recognized certification? Please let me know.
Right now, I will say that I am impressed with their ability to light up my landscape. They are much brighter than I expected. They also look ten times better than the single type spot-lights that had been installed on my house.
Update, their reply:
Hello:
Thanks for your inquiry.
Note that we carry two versions of this item, an AC version and a 12VDC
version. The AC version (which you purchased) should have all 3 wires
connected: Brown to Hot, Blue to Neutral, and Green/Yellow to Ground.
Currently these flood lights do not have UL certification.
I removed one of the lights to see if it had any certification. It had the CE certification required by the European Union. More importantly, it had the GS Certification on it which is the German version of UL testing. I am comfortable with this and will leave them installed on my house.
