This is my favorite LED flood light. I ordered this one and 3 others among the highest rated on Amazon. Of the 4, this is my favorite. It's bright and has a nice warm quality to the light. One of the others I tried was too green, and the other two were not as bright as this one. Also, this was the best in terms of how it behaves on a traditional dimmer switch...it is a smooth transition and goes pretty much all the way to the bottom. I'm using these bulbs to replace others in my house as they burn out (a mix of incandescent and CFL), and so far I'm very pleased with the upgrade. As with all the LED lights, there's a very slight delay to turn on (on the order of half a second or less, nothing at all like how long it takes a CFL to get to its full brightness). Also, as with all the other LED lights, the spread of light is more concentrated than a traditional bulb, but this one is no worse than any of the others.

Got this one for my basement ( low ceilings), together with Ideal LED bulbs.

Good points: VERY high luminosity ( seems even more than 850lm), Good body length

Negative Points: Not as wide an angle as I thought 7ft ceiling not enough . I'd recommend 9ft+ ceiling height for this one.

I bought six of these to replace incandescent track lighting in my kitchen. I like that they look very modern and the aluminum fins around the outside match the silver frames of my track light fixtures. I can also tell that they don't generate the heat that my incandescent lights did. This is a huge benefit to keep my kitchen cooler. I have these hooked up to dimmers and have had no problems with the dimming. The only minor thing is that I hear slight clicking or pinging noises for a few seconds when I turn these on to full power. I assume this is from a slight amount of heat or something in the lamp reacting to the power being applied and it has not caused any problem that I've noticed. One thing that I was also concerned about was the color temperature of LED lights versus the incandescents that I've had. These are definitely a whiter, brighter color compared to the warmer golden color of the incandescents. However I actually like the color of these lights better as they seem to bring a brighter crisper light to the kitchen. One thing that did take getting used to is that at full strength, these lights seem to make my kitchen cabinets a strange yellowish color versus the deeper brown I was used to. I think this is just due to the brighter lighting at full power but at dimmed levels everything looks fine. It doesn't look bad, it just takes getting used to after seeing my kitchen under incandescent lights for so many years.

When shopping for LEDs, pay close attention to the color temperature. Anything that's "3000K" or higher is going to have the same glare as fluorescent (CFB), so if you're hoping that an LED will give you the color of incandescent but the efficiency of fluorescent, don't waste your time with this or any >3000K light blub, even if they say "warm". It's not warm. At all. 2700K, like many of the phillips is wonderful-practically indistinguishable from incandescent.

This light is really neat, it looks nice, it works well. The light it puts off is nice (closer to sunlight).

It is more like a directional floodlight than wide angle though. Short distances it is more like a spot light (like what you would get from a large flashlight).

A decent quantity of heat is also generated, similar to fluorescent bulbs.

Beware LED lights are heavy so make sure your ceiling fixtures can hold them; This also means you can't use one of those poles with the suction cup on the end to put up the lights.
