They are light bulbs. They are the light bulbs I need for my ceiling fixture. They are hard to find locally.

These were delivered promptly and undamaged and they work as they are supposed to.

It's hard to get excited about them, but they are perfectly fine, thank you..

I looked at Home Depot and other stores at under counter lighting for my kitchen remodel. They were expensive... too expensive. I started looking online and found these and took a chance. At least as much light as the bright ones at home depot if not brighter and way, way less expensive. I got the product and had the whole thing installed one night after work. All twelve linking toghether make installation so easy without having to tear out walls to rewire. I was so impressed after hooking these up, so bright. They are very well made... not cheap at all. The screws are a little cheap that you mount with but the main product is so good, that it really didnt matter. I needed a couple extra cables to finish my job and they are mailing to me for free... customer service was awesome.

The light is very bright and with the glass produces an interesting lighting pattern. I had to get used to it but learned to really like it. However the led light went out in about 6 months and we can't find a way to replace it. product was bought by a handyman and he moved so we are without a porch light.

I have to agree with the other reviewer that these are much brighter and whiter than you would think, but I have them mounted on the front of my garage, and there they look great. The sensor works well, they come on at dusk and go off at dawn. We liked them so much we bought two more for our back doors. But they probably are too bright for a porch light. And by the way, we also got them at Costco for $29.99 each.

Best Deals for Altair Lighting LED Outdoor Lantern With Optional Arm Kit

I bought my AL-2149 Altair LED outdoor lantern at Costco for less than the Amazon price. The lamp seems much brighter than the advertised 60W incandescent equivalent. More like at least 100 W. For my front door, too white, too bright, makes my house stand out as the brightest and whitest on my block by far. I will probably be returning this lamp in favor of a warmer (light color-wise) replacement. Still very impressive, much more light than expected from 13W LEDs, seems like a good product, good price, ultra low maintenance.

I am using this bulbs for my recessed fittings and using it everyday around 5 to 7 hours for the past 1 year (almost). So far it is working fine. The only problem I need to highlight is the reliability of the bulb joint around the ballast. One of the bulb came out separate from the ballast with little force when tried to fit it inside the 4" recessed can. Hope it helps new buyers not to apply more force to fit.

I installed one in our kitchen (in a recessed lighting can above our sink). Since the area the bulb is installed in is normally dark, we tend to leave the light on at all times. I initially bought this CFL for it's long life and energy savings, but while most R20 incandescent lamps I've tried last about 6 months in continuous operation, this model only lasted 2 weeks! After reading some reviews on this model (post-mortem), I found out that it is *not* recommended for recessed lighting applications like mine. What's worse is that the packaging did not mention this rather important fact. Oh well, maybe another model will fare better.

Best Deals for Sylvania 29587 14-Watt Compact Fluorescent Lamp with R20 reflector

This bulbs fit and worked fine for me. The big annoyance is that they take over a minute to come up to decent light levels. For where we are using it, that is unfortunately a major annoyance. Next time, I will look for a fast starter in the R20 style.

Honest reviews on Sylvania 29587 14-Watt Compact Fluorescent Lamp with R20 reflector

I bought a set of 3 to use in my track lights. After a little less than 2 months, one out of the three no longer works. Also, it takes a minute or so to get bright enough to be helpful as a light source.

It seems challenging finding the right size & light value in fluorescents. Found what I needed for several fixtures at home in this product. The base of the bulb is slightly larger than a conventional incandescent bulb (was a problem in our last house as the ceiling "can" was narrower than the then-available R40 bulbs).

The color of this bulb is very close to that of a standard incandescent my wife didn't even notice until a couple days after installation.

They packaged my halogen lightbulb in a soft mailer envelope, yes really. So, of course, it arrived shattered. I ended up just throwing my money away. Basically buyer beware

Product arrived in a bubble package labelled as what I had ordered. It was NOT, however a 75-watt long bulb. It was a 100-watt short (box inside labelled Bublrite Q100T3/S). Useless as a replacement. I returned it to Amazon, and lo and behold! It was next-day replaced with an exact duplicate of the first still the wrong bulb. Automation efficiencies can only get you so far. Whoever packaged these was clueless, and once in the system apparently it's too complex a problem to handle.

Update: Bulbrite customer service contacted me and did provide the correct bulbs. So they're a good company in my book, it's just hard to sort out problems when something gets mislabeled.

What's to say? These are conventional 11 Watt light bulbs for low voltage (12V) Malibu garden lights. They come in packs of four; they are rather more expensive than they ought to be; and they last months (maybe a year if you've got your voltage under strict control). It looks like Intermatic (maker of Malibu) have a patent on the socket of these bulbs. (Sigh.)

These are way cheaper than the official Malibu price. Remember that these bulbs do burn out, and get multiple packs to keep the shipping cost down. Two packs are already cheaper than buying local.

I looked at LED replacement lights, but they're clearly not "there" yet $5-$10 per light (vs. $2.50 for 4), and LED lights are way, way dimmer than the 7W or 11W bulbs. I tried LED bulbs, and my wife said, "You've got to be kidding." We actually need to light up walkways. If you just need glowy mood lights, and you're willing to pay to feel good about yourself, go for the LEDs now. Otherwise, it'll be another year or three.

Great that the price is right and that you can actually find the product, but shipping was to high for a small package of lightbulbs. I haven't tried the bulbs yet, waiting for one to burn out, but assuming they work, I am happy just to find the replacement bulbs. Please lower the shipping costs though.

Led bulbs are just super expensive in general. Usually at four bucks per watt, if you can find it lower then you are getting a deal. This bulb is rated at 3w but I without a watt-meter I'm guessing it draws around 1.5w, it is very dim. Like three of these together definitely is not nearly bright as my single 6w bulb. There is very little practical use for this bulb, it goes great in the stove range vent-fan. As ambient track lighting, great. Something this dim has little application, but if low power night light is what you are looking for, this is a bargain. This bulb has a disgusting green tinge, but the lenses focuses the light into a narrow PAR which makes it unnoticeable. The 5w and 9w versions that use cree LEDs that look identical would be more practical, but again, those are $15 bulbs. This thing is 3 bucks a pop and will last longer than your life.

-update. These bulbs are awesome! Just unscrew the top, that plastic top actually blocks half the light, and use clear tape replace it, the bulb gets much brighter. If you dont want the focused beam, then remove the 3 magnifying lenses. I have one bulb being used as a front porch light. It stays on all day and does not even get warm! The LEDs are actually dangling off the heat sink, it doesn't even need a heat sink because it draws like .5 a watt and does not get hot.

using two of these for outdoor motion detecting fixture and I'm impressed with what ONE focused watt can do. its not as bright as a 50 watt incandescent bulb, but it isnt 50 watts! it also doesnt crap out in cold weather like the CFL's do, which are junk!

We've tried several different kinds of LED light bulbs to replace our incandescent recessed canned lights. These are the best so far. The color is excellent without any bluish, yellowish or greenish tint that most of the others have. One of the things I've noticed about the LED's generally is that the light doesn't seem to diffuse or disburst as randomly as incandescents, so there always seems to be a certain harshness, and the shadows more severe. These lights seem to get around that for the most part. The fact that they're dimmable let's me place them in a great variety of locations. Of the 6-7 we've tried, these are definitely my favorites.

UPDATE: I've ordered these lights 3 times, and I'm extremely disappointed with LED Wholesalers. I have 5 different lights, but the product number is the same for all of them. On the box some are rated 130W equivalent, some 100W. Some have an opaque difuser, some don't, some have different patterns of LEDs visible. I'm stuck with having to try to match lights so that the same appearance and brightness are in the same ceiling. The 1322WW DM/130Weq is a great light, but there's no guarantee that you'll get what you've ordered as pictured and specified. In my view, Amazon should drop LED Wholesalers as unreliable.

Best Deals for LEDwholesalers Dimmable PAR38 14 Watt LED Wide Angle Flood Light

This LED dimmed but produced significant/annoying flickering when doing so. Read on if you want to see what I was comparing to.

I've tried the following PAR38's:

the ones I'm reviewing

ecoSmart 407976 from HD 24W (125W equivalent 1300 lumens)

ecoSmart 407414 from HD 18W (110W equivalent 1200 lumens and daylight white)

ecoSmart 866914 from HD 18W (75W equivalent 850 lumens)

Philips AmbientLED 900 lumen/18W version (I've seen 760 and 1050's at HD too)

Of all the above I went with the Philips ones they produced the right amount of lumens while sticking to 18W. The 24W ecoSmart was fine but didnt seem "25%" brighter than the Panasonic or any of the other 18W ones, but it did get a lot hotter. The 18W/850lumen ecoSmart produced buzzing could have been a dodgy lamp maybe? My advice for anyone comparing is to get all the PAR38's from HD and try them yourself.

Honest reviews on LEDwholesalers Dimmable PAR38 14 Watt LED Wide Angle Flood Light

Superb light output and these can be dimmed extremely well down to near zero without flickering on an X10 style remote light control system. I think the warm white works better in living room and entertainment room areas with earth tone colors than the blue-ish light output from the pure white 5100K color temperature bulbs.

After reading the various reviews, we ordered this bulb to use in a track light that was one of 3. We wanted to test out one bulb before paying the hi cost for 3 of them. Results: not worth ordering. The bulb puts out about half the light of a 90 watt Par38 bulb. I am using it at the end of the track where I do not work. I wish I had bought it at a local store so that I could return this expensive item.

Petzl E99 PG2 Tikka XP 2 Headlamp Review

Petzl E99 PG Tikka XP 2 Headlamp, Graphite
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I have three Petzl Tikka XP headlamps and decided to try this one since it claims to be brighter. It definitely is brighter on the normal setting compared with the older XP, however, the claim that the normal setting is brighter than the boost mode on the old XP is not true (at least with the one I got). The boost mode on my old XP is far brighter than the new XP2, although it's nice to have the extra brightness in the normal setting. The red light is readily available by holding the switch down for three seconds. It's a separate lamp rather than a filter like the old unit had. This makes it possible to use the clear diffuser and still have the red light available.

This unit is a bit lighter, the batteries are a little easier to replace, it uses lithium batteries which my old one did not (lighter and longer life), the switch is easier to use and it doesn't have a boost mode, the light is as bright as it gets with the first position on the switch.

The old XP had three settings for brightness (not including the boost mode). This unit has only two, the brightest being somewhat brighter than the brightest on the old XP and the lower setting being equivalent to the lowest setting on the old one. I think I might miss the middle setting, it was the one I used the most.

There is a lot of light bleed through the clear plastic case. I find it irritating at times, like a light is shinning into my eyes. This one is aimed lower so you don't have to adjust it down to hit the path in front of you. Although that sounds like a good thing I found when working with it I sometimes have to manually hold the lamp up to light something that the old XP would have been able to illuminate.

The only really negative change in my opinion is the blueish color of the LED. It's the same blue light you get from almost all LED's. For me the best feature of the old XP was that the LED put out a warm light, more like a quartz lamp than a blue LED.

I like this unit, I'll just use a dab of black paint if the light bleed continues to bother me. I don't mind that it's not as bright as the boost mode on our other XP's though that would have been nice. I would recommend this light to anyone except owners of the previous model. In my opinion it's not a worthy upgrade from the old XP but it is the best one in the line for now.

edited 3-16-10: I thought I should add a note about the light bleed through the bottom of the case. It did become so irritating I had to deal with it. I stretched a strip of black vinyl electrical tape across the bottom and it fixed the problem. No more light in your eyes and the case still opens easily to replace the batteries.

Was skeptical at first, but this headlamp is perfect. I use it for spotting addresses on mailboxes and houses, when I'm out snowplowing. I can see the house addresses and read them clear at 200' even when its snowing. Its very light weight, very brite and the batteries last a long, long time. I'm going on 3 months now with the lithium ones I have in there. Petzl even backs their warranty by 3 years. Can't beat that! Definetly RECOMMEND this product to anyone. Have a nice day!

Best Deals for Petzl E99 PG2 Tikka XP 2 Headlamp

I've been using the old Tikka XP for years and loved it

so when I saw they had a new "improved" version out I had

to have it. I use the old version a lot around the house

and as a backup light for caving.

I just got the Tikka XP2 and man am I disappointed.

The clear bottom of the case allows light to bleed down

onto your eyelashes, into your eyes, and onto your glasses

if you're wearing them. Fixed that with some black heavy duty

duct tape and immediately found another boneheaded design

"improvement"- they changed the lens slider from side to side

to an up and down movement. What this does is: The tab that slides

the lens is now in a position to cast a blaze of light down even

worse than the clear case bottom (fixed with more duct tape.

Didn't these folks figure this out before they released the product

or was it considered a design "feature"?

Also, the lens itself is not as good as the lens was in the old unit. This lens

casts a very uneven footprint on both settings compared to the old unit.

Finally, the unit gives a sickening strobe effect to any motion. Try it

for yourself before you send it back. Move your hand in front of your

face and notice the nauseating strobe effect.

Given these flaws, I have to say the old Tikka XP was damn near perfect and

I immediately got online and discovered it's now discontinued. Soooo, after a

little searching I found a place that had ONE left in stock. It's now on its

way to me.

Do not buy this headlamp if you liked the old Tikka XP. Do buy it if you don't

mind light in the wrong places and the stroboscopic effect.

They should not have used the old name "Tikka XP" as part of the name for this

product because in my opinion the two are completely different and the only similarity is that they are both small. Again, what a disappointment. I had hoped I was going to get basically the same unit, just brighter. Instead I got a completely new design that is inferior to the old. But hey, the new one's brighter!

Honest reviews on Petzl E99 PG2 Tikka XP 2 Headlamp

I am a predawn runner and log about 40-50 miles per week running. I was researching various headlamps. I read a lot of reviews, watched a lot of you tube videos on headlamp comparisons. I was using the energizer 3 light headlamp prior to purchasing the petzl. Which I do have to say for under $20 that was a very good little lamp for the price. I ran with it for 2 years, but it sisnt give enough light outside of dimly lit streets. I live in the city but do also run along irrigation channels on farmland in the southwest so it can get a little dark in some areas. I narrowed my choice down to the diamond storm or the petzl tikka xp2. Side by side comparrison (mostly you tube videos) lead me to purchase the petzl. I have had the lamp now a few weeks and I have to say I love it! The light is certainly bright enough for my running needs. I only run with the high beam on with the diffuser, but also love the fact the lamp has the red light for night time vision. Haven't used the strobe light yet, but can see where this would be useful for motor vehicles to see you. I also take precautions on the road by wearing a reflective vest, ankle reflective strips and a flashing red light. This seems like a solid made piece of equipment and durable. I haven't found that the light bleeding around the light, as some have complained, to be an issue. I wear a headband in the winter, a visor in the summer with the lamp. The diffuser really does spread the light out quite far, or one could use it without the diffuser and have a more pin-pointed beam. The tilt feature is nice too. The light doesn't giggle when running and the headband is well made and thick. It also has a little S.O.S. whistle built into the band. I love my light and look fwd to many more miles of running in the dark! Hope this helps.

Most people consider these head lamps primarily for use outdoors: running, hiking, camping, caving, etc. While I don't doubt this light would be great for all those things, I've actually found it indispensable around the house. It's extremely useful for working on any odd job that would otherwise be poorly lit, like working under the hood of a vehicle, inside a dark cabinet, or doing electrical with the power off. All are much easier with this lamp. It allows your hands to stay free and prevents you from blocking out your only light sources. It's light and comfortable, and can be worn for extended periods. The lamp can be angled to focus where you're looking, and you can use the direct beam for precise work or the diffusion filter for a wider view. The led bulb is bright and gives good battery life. It feels well constructed overall. I'm very happy with this purchase.
