When I found the box by my front door, it was a mess. The end was torn open, and there was another big tear in the box along the side. The post itself had a couple of small dents, but nothing bad enough that I thought it was worth shipping back.

The post is of decent quality, but not great. The steel is of marginal thickness, but will hopefully hold up well as long as you don't bump it too hard with your mower, or have kids swinging from it. The cross bar is made of plastic and looks cheap up close. But from a distance it looks fine.

I applied some additional spray paint to lower portion that was to be buried in concrete, to give it a little more corrosion protection. So far, it is working out fine for me.

Due to an error in carpentry the large wooden post which was to support my light fixture was cut down. the easiest solution was to purchase a long lamp post and it is now in place and looks smart

I was replacing a post that had been run over. This post arrived timely, but the box was badly damaged, the cross bar was missing, and there were some decent dents on the bottom of the post. I had the cross bar from my old post, and the dents were on part of the post that was in the ground, so i just sucked it up, but I would have thought something as non-fragile as a metal post would have travelled better. This is more a knock on the shipping company, as the post was the rigth size to replace my old one.
