I have now purchased 2 of these flaslights. They are quality built and are a great value for under 50 dollars. I put Duracell procell C batteries in these and they are always ready when you need them. Well over 15 months with the same cells and still strong.

This dates me, but when I grew up, to get a bright flashlight you needed a big five D-cell unit or larger. Now here's a three C-cell flashlight that is much smaller and weighs less, puts out more light, and has three levels of luminosity to boot. Yes, tactical lights are even smaller and can put out nearly as much light or sometimes more. But for flexibility the Streamlight 51039 is a winner. Its low level is a bright glow, mid level brighter still, and high level a full beam. And unlike the five D light of yesteryear, for practical purposes the "bulbs" will not burn out. Quality of materials and workmanship appears to be excellent, as I'd expect from Streamlight. The lanyard is a nice bonus. And the light doesn't flicker, which was a more or less repeated nuisance of the old school incandescent flashlight. One thing: to switch the light off requires clicking through all three light settings. But at worst this is a minor annoyance. In sum, there's a lot to like about this light and it is recommended.Best Deals for Streamlight 51039 Twin-Task 3C Battery Powered LED Flashlight, Black
I use flashlights on a daily basis at work and I was considering to buy a Stinger DS LED but I didnt want to spend over $100. I began to do some research on the Streamlight website and ran across the Twin Task 3C. Its size and weight are both very similar to the Stinger, and so is its design which I like. I do like rechargeable flashlights, but I decided to go with battery operated because the stinger only lasts 7.5 hours max on low setting where as the Twin Task lasts 72 hours on low. Also due to the Stinger costing $100 minimum I was worried about it getting stolen (I had a friend from work who got his stolen) and damaged (the lip around the Stinger apparently gets damaged easily when dropped according to other reviewers). I just wouldn't want to spend another $100 if something happened to it. The Twin Task is extremely durable and doesnt have a lip at the edge that sticks out as much as the Stinger which is really nice because it minimizes the chance of damage. The Twin-Task 3C has a super bright light. Not as bright as the Stinger's 350 lumens, but 180 lumens is very good. Even the low setting of 50 lumens is really nice. This flashlight is lightweight for its size and very comfortable to hold. Most importantly I feel good owning it. No buyers remorse what-so-ever. Im just going to need to research rechargeable batteries and Im set.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a good inexpensive flashlight that is well made by a well known company.
Honest reviews on Streamlight 51039 Twin-Task 3C Battery Powered LED Flashlight, Black
This light is great because it has three different modes, although I only ever use two modes. All modes use LED lighting, so the battery life is great. In the first mode, there is ample light to provide illumination for close work. The second mode is not that much brighter to warrant review or use. The last mode is very bright (although your batteries will drain faster), and it is bright enough to illuminate a long distance.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Streamlight 51039 Twin-Task 3C Battery Powered LED Flashlight, Black
I had one of these before...the LED/Xenon bulb model. Due to the ugly purple tint to the LEDS, and the extreme difficulty of obtaining replacemant Incandescent bulbs, I returned it. I then saw they had upgraded the light, with all LEDs, so I figured, I'll try again. It is slim, and lighter than my old 3D cell maglight. I really wanted to like this light, and Streamlight has a reputation for quality !
I received the package, and the light appeared to be a well-made, handsme product. Not waiting for dark, I installed the batteries, and it didn't work! I took it apart as far as I could, checked the polarity of the batteries...peered zand prodded as well as I could, but still nothing. Not sure if this is a result of poor manufacturing, or just the luck of the draw, but I figured twice is plenty, so will buy another brand of light. Your experience may be diferent than mine. I hope so!
