this light is no match to a 20W halogen light. Bought this one for a Ikea desk lamp. With the halogen light, I can not look at the light bulb. But with this one, I can stare at the light bulb for three seconds. This light bulb also flickers inthe Ikea lamp base.

Not sure if the light is driven properly. But don't buy this light for the Ikea lamp base, which gives an AC output.

I purchased these to replace the bulbs in my landscape lighting. I have some of the malibu spot lights like these Malibu 8301-9604-01 20 Watt Flood Bi-Pin Bulb that came in a kit from the big box home store. These bulbs are much larger than the original incandescent ones. However, they do fit inside and still allow for the metal and glass cover to be put back on. The original bulbs were 20 watt and these are only 2.5 watts. Thats a pretty big difference up front and the description for these bulbs doesn't really mention how bright they are compared to a similar incandescent bulb. I would say it is about 1/3 or 1/4 as bright as the 20 watt original. For me is is not enough. I will be removing them and the fixtures also. I am going to switch to a more LED friendly fixture like the Paradise GL22724BK Low-Voltage Cast-Aluminum 20-Watt Halogen Spot Light with Glass Lens, Black
