What a piece of junk!!!!!! Ordered 2 -1 didn't work and the other has such a dim light cant see it from 10 feet away.

We bought several of these lanterns at a local store on sale last summer, in different shapes and colors, and we put them away to use this summer. Even when they were new, the light was very dim. In order for you to even see the light at night, they have to be in total, glaring sun all day long. Even then, the only ones you can really see well are the white ones. The light just doesn't shine through the colored ones. But charging them all day in the hot sun presents another problem, because the fabric fades very easily, and it doesn't take very long before they get too bleached out in the sun to look very nice. The other problem is that the frames are quite flimsy, and they eventually collapse under the strain of supporting the shapes. It didn't take long for about half of ours to go all lopsided. Of all the lanterns, the only ones that stayed looking nice were the white teardrop-shaped ones. But even with those, the fabric got very brittle and started to rot and tear by the end of the summer.

Still, this wouldn't have been a problem if the lanterns were cheap. I would have just written them off as one of those items you have to replace every year. In fact, I got online today to try to find a few more of the white teardrop-shaped ones. And I was SHOCKED to see how expensive they are when they're not on sale.

I would say that unless you plan to just put these out to charge on the morning you're going to have a party, and then take them down immediately afterwards, these are just not worth buying. They will not stand up to hanging on a deck or patio all summer.
