I just got it and it seems okay. I can't compare it to other lights for brightness, not having them here to test, but it seemed like this was the brightest cordless one available. I just wish that each light's description would include a brightness rating I guess that would not be in most of the manufacturers' interest though.
I'm writing this review to warn people that if the light doesn't work when you try it with batteries (there is also a working 9V input if you have your own plug), it may be caused by the far-end (and out of sight) battery contact being blocked. They sloppily crammed the instructions and bag of screws down the battery compartment, so the bag got wedged down at the far-end contact, hard-stuck around the spring-coil (I saw the instructions at first and pulled those out, but didn't see the bag).
The bag was too hard to pull out (even with an unwrapped coat hangar or vacuum), so after 10 minutes I gave up on that method and succeeded by removing 4 of the tiny screws with an eyeglass screwdriver set.

Pros very strong light source: good illuminationCons Mount is not good. The dome-shaped screws used to anchor the removable light base are supposed to apply pressure on the light to keep it from wobbling. However, this design does not work. I had to use closed cell foam to stabilize the light and keep it from rocking when the on/off switch is toggled.
