Cheap Sylvania 78639 Ultra Dimmable LED Flood Lamp - 15 Watts

I purchased these bulbs to replace Sylvania Par 30LN 75W Halogen Daylight Plus light bulbs (75PAR30LN/DAY/WFL/RP, 15228) that I am using in my kitchen. The LED bulbs arrived fast and in good condition. The light they give off is comparable, even though they are only a 50W halogen replacement. Sylvania actually recommended LED15PAR30LN/DIM/827/NFL (78655), but they only have a 25° beam spread and are 2700K. I may try them too before replacing all 10 of my halogens, but I don't think they'll produce a sufficient spread of light.

I have only had the bulbs in for a few hours, so I can't comment on longevity. The halogens only last 6 months, so if I get only 10 times the length out of these I am still coming out ahead. Of course 20 times the life of a halogen would be great!

My only complaint is that the lights do not come on instantly when you flick the switch. There is a slight delay (.5 1.5 seconds), and the lights all come on at slightly different times. At the moment I only have 2 of these bulbs in. When I get all 10 bulbs in this may be really annoying. We'll see though. Still researching that issue.

I would recommend these bulbs.

Sylvania 78639 LED15PAR30LN/DIM/830/FL40 Dimmable LED Light Bulb

Purchased to replace dimmable compact fluorescent lamps (four) in my kitchen. The CF bulbs were a yellow color, slow to warm up, and only marginally effective with a dimmer switch. These LED lamps provided an amazing difference. The light is much whiter and more crisp. My sink looks white, not dingy. The entire kitchen looks cleaner, much to my wife's delight. There is a tiny delay in turning on, at most a fraction of a second, here again far better than the CF bulbs they replaced. They work flawlessly with my dimmer switch including at the lowest setting. The only possible negative is they are not as wide angle as the CF bulbs. For my application that was unimportant and did not effect my rating.

My only real complaint is I had to suffer with CF bulbs for so long.
