The first came DOA, but Torchstar sent a replacement without me returning the faulty one. The replacement works perfectly, and gives of nice light. I think 30 watt equivalent seems about right.

I ordered one of these TorchStar LED bulbs on a whim. I wanted to test out the "like a regular 40 Watt bulb" claim. The price is not as high as other LED bulbs. I already have/use other LED bulbs so I have something to compare it to.

The bulb itself is very small(small enough to fit into the palm of my hand). There are 6 LED SMD chips soldered inside of the "clear" "lens" at the top of the bulb. The "lens" itself was not as clear as I would want, when I removed it from the package there were visible smudges/stains or something like them on the "lens", in other words it seemed dirty.

I recently had a very similar bulb(a Candelabra type of bulb) suffer a partial failure(3 of the 6 LED chips now do not function as they should reducing the light output). This bulb replaced that one in a bed side lamp. The bulb when turned on is not as bright as an old fashioned 40 Watt bulb, so this claim is false. The light color though is actually "Warm White"(yellow) which I prefer. Other similar bulbs have a more whitish("Bright White") light color. Light output is somewhere below 200 Lumens, which is acceptable for the purpose I am using the bulb(again a bed side lamp).

Hopefully the same issue does not appear with this LED bulb as with my other LED bulb, since they are similar in design. If it does I will try to update this review. To those buying this bulb remember don't expect much light, be sure you have a fixture or lamp where this kind of bulb(approximately similar to a "regular" 25 Watt bulb) will be useful.

The color of this bulb is just great. Warm light similar to incandescent bulbs.

Delivery was 2 whole weeks earlier.

The brightness is similar to 20W bulb (rather than a 40W as stated) but still, great product.
