I bought these because they were the right size outdoor candles to fit into a lantern on my porch. Unfortunately, the timer turns the candle off, but not on again. You have to turn the darn things on each time you want to use them. May not be a problem for most, but not what I thought I'd purchased. Update: My fault for not checking this out before writing review -candles DO come on automatically at same time every day. This makes them perfect for my use.

These candles look real. When you turn them on they stay on for 5 hours and then shut down for the next 19 hours and then turn themselve back on, repeating the process day after day. We place them in metal lanterns that give them some shelter from the rain; however, they still operate when they get a little wet.

If you want a "timer" candle that doesn't have a vanilla scent...this is the candle for you. It does require C size batteries and my only objection is that the "light" does not extend down the entire length of the candle...not a biggie...but you can't help but compare it to other "timer" candles that do and that use AA batteries. It can be used outdoors! Great product that I think you will love!

Use in lanterns on our outdoor deck and love the glow they give. If you are looking for something with ambiance these are the way to go.

The description said that these candles used 2 C batteries. Instead they use 2 AA batteries which do not last as long. I would prefer the C. But I do like the fact that they are more waterproof than any candles I have bought.
