I love these lights...work great.. and found out you do not need a screwdriver to open. I also had a difficult time.

You simply slide the case apart....it does not open up on the top.

I recommend these and will be buying more.

Love these. They look really nice in my patio and the wire is not distracting during the daytime! FYI, you will need a screwdriver to open up the battery cases.

So far these are working well. I used them to make a home made lighted sign from a shadowbox. They light well and I haven't had any problems with them. Another reviewer mentioned the tiny screws on the battery case. I at first had an issue with this and tried using all my small screwdrivers. I then got out my regular phillips screwdrivers and one of them actually worked on it.

These lights seems like good quality but the problem is that the battery pack is screwed shut with teeney tiny screws. I don't have a screwdriver that size, not even with my macbook repair kit that comes with 10 different small screwdrivers. I assumed the battery holder would be slide on/off like most other batter operated gadgets.

Overall I'm giving this a 2 because the quality of the lights themselves and wire looks decent, but since it won't light without the batteries it serves no purpose for me.
