this is a pretty good light but only 2 usable settings. full power and color changing. not sure their math on the 50% light setting. it's more like 10% light. i like that i can bring it out on the deck to BBQ at night or carry it around and use it when the power goes out.
they claim the assembled height is 5.8 inches. not sure how they measured this but it's 9.5 inches tall and just over 11 inches tall including the handle. probably the same math whiz that estimated the 50% light setting
aside from the 10% light setting being useless, the "bump" feature is so sensitive it can't handle moderately loud music. not even super loud just more like a full stereo going but not loud enough to be heard outside the brick wall of the room it's in. so it will switch modes by itself due to the music being on. this makes it useless for party ambiance, which is a shame because the color changing would have been great for that. i happen to have mine in a recording studio and sadly i'll have to move it somewhere else. i do not find the "bump" feature that great anyway, they should have just installed a switch for that, or at least allowed you to turn the bump off.
if you want to use this for candlelight dinners or in a quiet room, you're in luck. just forget about entertaining with it where music is involved. design is nice but the plastic feels a bit cheap. all in all not worth the 87 i paid imo. 40 would have been fair. given it's limitations, cheap build and high price, i think 3 star rating is fair
UPDATE: aside from the sound activate issues the light kept getting dimmer and dimmer when on full power, to the point it's unusable. luckily i'm in the period to return it so I'm doing so

At this price, this lantern is wonderful. Yes, when you set it down it turns on all by itself, when it's not supposed to, but hey, It's over half off! There are 3 settings, high, low and cycling through the colors. It lends a very nice mood to the room and to the patio and is easy to hang anywhere and a solid product.When it is charging a light is emitted on the base of the lantern as an FYI.
