I'm extremely happy with this fan. It looks sleek, modern, clean and sturdy. The three fan blades are sufficiently sized and pitched at 14 degrees, which means it doesn't have to spin like the spin cycle on your washing machine to move a large volume of air around the room. It's also very quiet!! I am a light sleeper and I can't hear this fan motor at night. I also don't hear the fan blades cutting into the air. I also love the wall switch. We bought three fans from the same manufacturer, this one was the WET model. The fan controller replaces the wall switch, which I think is fantastic. There is no fan remote to lose!! I like the switch so much that I have replaced the other two fan switches with this one. My only resevations are one of choice and one of design. The light is halogen, so I don't think I can switch it out with a low energy one. LED lights are coming, so maybe I'll be able to replace the halogen bulb with an LED one. The light controller is not that great. There are two button that look like it's designed after a light switch, but pushing either button gets the same result. When you push and hold either button, the light either dims or brightens. Pushing the up or down button does not control the direction of light brightness.
If you can get over the unctionality of the light controller or plan to use a four wire electrical source, you'll love this fan.

Ordered this fan because in addition to being an outdoor ceiling fan it is Wet rated. We live in Central IL and need a fan that can handle the harsh weather on our patio.Have had the fan for 2 month & so far no problems. Sometimes wish I could feel the blade movement better, but know that it's because we live in the country & if there is a breeze at all you can't feel the air movement from the fan as well. On the truly still days though it works great on the high setting.
Ordered the remote control that was recommended with the fan & love it.
Only thing I wish the Minka-Aire company would warn customers of is after installing fan we did not think the Reverse on the fan was working because we were letting the fan come to a complete stop before we reversed it. Finally called the company & they said you have to hit the reverse button while the fan is still in motion.
This is opposite of the instructions for most fans so they should mention that in the manual.
