Because there are frequent power failures where I live, I have emergency lights in both my restrooms (there's nothing more terrifying than trying to get out the bath tub in total darkness). I bought two of these LED emergency lights to replace the two older ones that had gone bad. These are brighter than the previous incandescent fixtures and they run for over two hours on a single charge; they use a little battery pack similar to those used in cordless phones and are much lighter than the old sealed lead-acid batteries. Highly recommended!!

This product is housed in cheap looking plastic and is only suitable in areas where it will not often be seen (basements, storage rooms, etc.) unless appearance is not a concern. The produce does not plug in. It just comes with wires hanging out that require some electrical knowledge and effort to install. Also, returning the produce is difficult given the barriers created by the vendor. There is a 15% restocking fee; you need to return it parcel post insured or UPS, which they do not pay; you have to fill out a disclaimer form and send it back into them. So by the time a credit is issued, if it is issued, you have lost 1/2 the value of the product. I'm just going to chuck this item in the trash and look for better products.
