I bought this because I hate halogens but needed a very bright work light. This is designed more for mounting outside a garage on on a wall above a workbench but it's been great, tiltable, sitting in the attic on the floor while I rewire, remodel, and repaint my house. I had to wire the short 'cord' into an outlet box with a switch and then a pigtail from there to plug it in but that was no problem.
