I decided on LED illumination for several reasons. They provide instant light with a minimum usage of electricity; totally cool operation so they don't heat up a room; excellent color rendition and they provide all of this in a manner which is friendly to the environment. These lamps are well constructed and operate perfectly. About the only drawback is their initial cost. But I like them enough to spend the money and highly recommend them. I am slowly changing every incandescent and most CFL's to LED's.

Used these to replace 6 14w (60w equiv) CCFL bulbs in a bathroom vanity. The CCFLs produced an ugly yellow light and took quite a bit of time to warm up to full brightness. In contrast, these LED bulbs provide maximal brightness instantly and have an extremely natural color. I don't think the 3000k color temp is accurate, however this is not a con but a benefit. The light color is almost like sunlight and I would say its much closer to a 4300k color.

I put them in my bathroom vanities. The color is a natural white light, I figured it would be the right color for the wife to put makeup on. The only drawback I have is the throw of the light, it throws outward and has minimal downward throw.
