Bought it in January and it's dead now in March. That's 3 months when their claim is an average life of almost a year. Going to buy once more and give it one more try since its cheap.

I picked up two of these bulbs from a local pet shopa few days ago . Sadly I got such a good price on them that I didn't even bother looking at reviews first. I know there is one reviewer that slammed the thought of writting a review about a light bulb but when you have a considerable investment in your aquarium setup you probable don't want to take a chance on buying a dud.As mentioned I just got these bulbs a few days ago. I can tell a slight improvement in my plants and the colors of the fish seem a bit brighter. However my tank is 55 gallon and about 18 inches tall. Because the light hood is very narrow the entire tank does not get the full benefit and the fish seem to change color when they swim in and out of the "beam" of light that can be noticed when viewed from the side of the tank. I am giving the bulbs the review I have until a few weeks have passed and I can see how much of a difference these bulbs make over the standard full spectrum bulbs that I have had for the past year.

What can I say? This is the most awesome lightbulb I have ever bought. My fish are very happy about it too.

Seriously,are there really people out there who need a review to purchase a light bulb?
