Needed a bright light for a dark doorway and front porch area.

Couldn't get into the attic to run electrical wire so I went with this.

PROs:

-no battery waste since the area MUST be DARK before the motion detector will turn on the light.

I forget where I saw the specifications online but the light output from the LED, on HIGH setting, is like 80+ Lumens.

Light throws a wide ring of light. Great for several people to see their way around the front or back door at night time.

2 times settings for how long the light stays on: either 30 seconds or 2 minutes

2 settings for light intensity.

CONs:

would have liked to see this unit be dual-powered, like via the 3-D cells AND a DC power adapter (when it is used inside)

I have installed 3 of these, one for myself and 2 for family members.

Depending on how you configure the light intensity and duration settings, the 3-D cells may last up to 6 month. We get about 4-6 months.

The retractable band on this was a nice surprise. It works great for wearing on your head or wrist. I've even attached it to branches and a trekking pole for an improvised lantern. All the setting you could need sandwiched in between two off switches so that you can have white or red light right a single click away from the off position.

I would love to see Petzl integrate a mini usb port w/ rechargeable battery into this model (or slightly larger model) so I can ditch the extra batteries and use my backup usb battery that I charge my smartphone with.

This was a gift for my Mom for Mother's Day and she really enjoys it. My Mom collects art in her yard and I was looking for something that moved. This was available at other garden and bird stores online for $60 to $120. As other reviewers said, it did come in a couple of pieces, but it wasn't a big deal to assemble and it sits in my parents' backyard and catches the wind just fine. Their yard is protected on all sides by trees, large fences and plants.

The piece is a lot lighter weight than I thought it would be and smaller, but it is still a substantial piece. The globe piece in the middle does not glow in the dark, but is a nice accent.

Without any prodding the two wheels seem to catch the wind and spin separately, even on a normal wind day.

Love this wind wheel but it needed alot of re-working to get it to work correctly. The blades had to be tilted more to catch the wind. Also weights had to be added so the wheels would turn when the wind caught the blades. The wheels have to be facing the wind in order to spin.

This is a cool light bulb with a remote. You can select the color, or have it cycle through the various colors. When white is selected, it shines the red, blue and green LEDS, giving the appearance of white. However, if I were to compare this to an incandescent bulb, I'm guessing it is about like a 25W at its brightest. The 9W consumption cannot be used to compare this with other LED lamps as the lumens vary greatly. (The vendor does not state how many lumens this unit emits. Again, it's about like a 25W lamp.)

The remote has to be aimed directly at the light, and works from about 0-6 feet away.

A good use for this would be mood lighting. A bad use would be for a reading or work light.

I have been looking for waterproof lighting for my garden fountain since the last waterproof LEDs I installed weren't. I ordered this very item from ToolTopia.com a month ago. Their price was not the lowest (SJDiscount Tools has it for $156.92) but their warehouse was closer to my location and shipping was free.

The under hood light was for my husband, and it works very well. But the hangers that attach the light to the frame do not appear to be the same as in the photo, and are woefully inadequate. The hangers we received with it are extremely flimsy S-hooks and at any time the bulb falls out during hanging.

I contacted ToolTopia, and requested they locate the hangers shown in the photo, which appear much more secure. After some hemming and hawing, they didn't contact the manufacturer Central Lighting, but emailed me their phone number suggesting I remedy the problem myself. ToolTopia would not support the product they sold me and was uninterested in locating the missing parts. I do not recommend them!

This is an outstanding product; high quality engineering and manufacturing which is built for the professionals. In fairness, I have seen this product in action, so I was well aware of what I was getting.

Again in fairness, I must respectfully address Ms Brewster's disappointing experience with her order. Without knowing the details, I suspect the vendor substituted a different product than was displayed and discussed in the ad.

Mine was purchased through El Dorado Sales and totaled $160.23 which included the shipping, and was exactly the one shown. Images of the product in use have been added. I hope Ms Brewster was able to resolve the product problem, as her husband will enjoy this light for many years.

I might also add that a mechanic friend of mine bought this exact tool for $224.00 at Clarke Tool about 3 years ago. is the best!

I'm what you would call a "shade tree mechanic" or "grease monkey". I've been working on cars for YEARS and one of the most annoying and troublesome problems I have is getting enough light where I need!!!! Drop lights are always either in the way, or falling, or just not at the right angle. This light really puts an end to all of that! Just hook it to your hood with the supplied hanger (which by the way is very very nice quality), and you have enough light to work anywhere in your engine bay! This thing put out enough light to allow me to work UNDER the car and not worry about toting a drop light with me. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Highly recommended for anyone who details engines too! The fluorescent light really allows you to see all the small imperfections.

This is a great tool. Doesn't get hot provides a ton of even cool white light. A must have in every shop. Works great in the interior as you can attach it to the roof. Won't work on every car as some older cars don't have a flat hood for the 'hooks' to grab on to.... so be aware of that shortcoming.

LED 1.5W 12V MR11 GU4.0 Accent Lamp Bulb Reviews

I ordered three, one fell apart after about a week. The circuit board with LEDs on it came out of the glass body. (Easily fixable) The other two are still working fine and seem to be solid.

Huge energy savings. The power supply for these lights used to be so hot it was barely touchable, now it's barely warm. The light is very close to the old halogen bulbs but only about 2/3 as bright.

For the 3 bucks I payed for each I'm still ahead verses the $25 versions of these, so buy a couple extra and if one goes bad, swap it out and silicone the other as time permits and save for when the another burns out.

I cannot wait until LED's are good enough for regular bulbs!

These lights were cheap, and craftsmanship shows. I bought 8 of them and one was falling apart right out of the box. Another one was bearly hanging on. The LEDs are only glued onto the MR11 frame and the quality and care of the glueing is not so great. They are however brighter than I expected and unfortunately, they are on the whiter side rather than yellow. Given the price, I would say they are very average in quality.

I am tired of replacing halogen bulbs in my landscape lights, so tried to switch to LED. I bought four of these bulbs with the idea of retrofitting my current fixtures. I installed one to see how it performed and was dissappointed at how blue the light is. The halogens are so white, and I have other LED lights that are as white as the halogen. I wont be using these bulbs going forward.

Bought two of these, both of them came apart immediately. Manufacturer uses a glue point to hold the LED array in place in the housing. That glue does not hold correctly and the unit come apart.

These jumper cords work great at extending your under cabinet lighting. They are slim enough to easy conseal and found the price to be decent enough to purchase a few different sizes. This product is perfectly fine for what it is. It simply connects two Juno undercabinet fixtures together. If you don't use this cord you must run wiring to each fixture individually behind the wall.

My only complaint is that the connector on the end of the cord is huge. I had to notch out the cabinet frame underneith so that it could fit.

These are good and bright lights. I've used them for several years. Occasionally you may hit them on something and break them and eventually they will sometimes burn out the bulb. I've used these lights for probably over 10 years now, mostly for shrimping. I have a couple that are going on their 4th season and they're still working great. One problem people may be having is that they are using them out of the water. These lights are bright and hot, you can not run them unless they are submerged.
