Mechanically, this product (Cooper Lighting LED125 Mini Compact Folding LED Work Light) is very well-designed. It can be attached to most metallic surfaces using the three magnets on the back, or it can be hung using the two bungee cords. The light angle can be easily adjusted.

There are just two operating modes. First press on the power button turns on both LEDs. Second press leaves just one LED on. The third press turns off both. The two high-power LEDs are very bright. They provide much better illumination than other products (such as the Cooper Lighting 80-LED Work light) that use large number of low-power LEDs.

The main problem I have with this LED work light is that, like most cheaply designed LED flashlights, it has no power regulations at all. The LEDs are driven directly by the three AA batteries. Since each LED is just a diode, its current (and hence power consumption) is very sensitive to the battery voltage. See the "Input Power vs. Battery Voltage" chart I uploaded to 'Customer Image' section, and you'll see what I mean.

When driven by three fresh alkaline batteries, the two LEDs combined consume around 1A of current, or over 4 watts of power. At this rate, the AA alkaline batteries will be depleted quickly. The product description claims '4.5 hours' of runtime when using alkaline batteries. But this number is highly misleading, since the LED brightness drops as battery voltage decreases. So you probably can only get 10% of the initial brightness near the end of this rated runtime.

On the other hand, this LED light works well if you use rechargeable NiMH cells (such as the Sanyo eneloop AA batteries) in it. This is because the combined voltage of three NiMH cells remains relatively stable at 3.6V, so the two LEDs consume a more reasonable power of around 2W. Based on my energy calculation, I expect at least 4 hours of consistent illumination from a set of 2000mAh eneloop cells.

Bottom line: This LED work light is a battery hog when you use disposable alkaline batteries. It is a reasonable value only if you make use of rechargeable batteries.

I'd been looking for a small work light that would be more convenient that trying to juggle a flashlight and do what I'm trying to do. It needed to be battery powered and reasonably bright.

This Might-D-Light really met my needs. With the hinged design I can lay it down or stand it up to angle the light where I want it. It also has 3 magnets (reasonably strong) and a couple of intergated bungie cords. So there are many ways to mount it/place it. You can also turn on one or both of the LEDs.

The LEDs are pretty bright. Don't expect it to replace a halogen work light, but it's quite reasonable considering it's powered by 3 AA batteries.

I read about this work light in a couple of different magazines and it sounded like it would be a lot better than other lights I have. Not the case. It isn't near as bright as I had been led to believe, the magnets that attach it to ferrous surfaces aren't as strong as I had been led to believe, and the attached bungees keep coming off their storage points and getting in the way when you aren't using them. Overall, pretty average.

I do a lot of odd jobs that invariably see me working and crawling into small dark spaces or sometimes working late at night. This works very well when I need extra illumination but where it would be difficult to drag a halogen worklight with a long power cord with me. My main complaint is similar to another reviewers, there doesn't seem to be any power regulation circuit to the LEDs, so they tend to drain batteries very fast unless you use NiMh batteries, personally I'm gonna mail the company and request they alleviate this flaw even if it drives the light's cost up ten more dollars it would be worth the savings in batteries alone.

If you get one that does not work, don't bother calling the company, they WILL NOT return your call no matter how many messages you leave them!!!!!!! Purchased this product with the intention of providing a backup to the lights already around the home for security purposes as well as decoration. The kit went togeather easily and I had the light put up in no time. After a couple months use the lights are still in good shape.

Did a bit of anti-theft prevention in the form of drilling a hole and pop-riviting the joints togeather but other then that the kit is great as is.

They arrived super quickly, which was nice. The 3200K warm light was a good choice. The light level is a tab brighter than the 50W halogen GU10's I replaced, but the color is about the same. So I'm saving watts, and getting more light. Can't beat that! So glad I didn't get the 6000K light, it would've probably been too harsh. I would buy more later when I need them.

The description lists this product as 3000 K warm white but it is a far cry from that. I compared this bulb's color temperature to that of the Philips 6-Watt (50W incandescent equivalent) LED GU10 which also claims to be 3000 K and the Philips was far far superior.

Additionally, this bulb's beam angle is extremely wide, keep that in mind if you intend to use it for a chandelier like I originally had intended. These bulbs are suitable for a kitchen given the cool color temperature (almost like daylight color temperature, around 5000 K I would estimate) and wide beam angle.

So far I have purchased 6 of these, from different sellers (as they keep running out). The lights are pretty durable, though the plastic+pins have rotated loose on one bulb (it still works). They have a good amount of dimming with minimal flicker at the low end (this doesn't bother me). I purchased a an occupancy dimmer from Amazon, which though incandescent only, did actually work. But I found the CFL-LED version at another site, and got it soon after (sorry, Amazon doesn't carry the model I needed). It has a lot more trim, and the lights keep up just fine. I am very impressed, in spite of all the negative reviews, make up your own mind, this is a great value.

My last order had three, and one wasn't working properly. Within 24 hours, I had a response from the vendor (not the seller) a refund, and a replacement on the way from the manufacturer (no return was required), and a polite interaction the entire time. You can't get much better than that.

Excellent! Recommended, if your looking for a table/desk lamp to illumiate your immediate work space, this is the lamp for you. I particularly like that the light focuses on your immediate work space and does not illuminate the entire room. It has a magnifing glass as well as the bright light, making this product great for close work and is perfect any project while seated at a desk/table, i.e., crafting/hobbies --jewelry-making, coin,stamps, small model building, scrap-booking. I am using it at my computer (magnifing and brighting my work) and also as a table lamp by my chair for reading and crocheting (and the light does not disturb others in the room or viewing TV). I'm giving this a 3 star only because of the magnifier portion. It doesn't seem to fulfill my needs so I will be shopping for a magnifying instrument. I got this OttLite and I LOVE IT! This product is amazing. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference but now it's a lot easier to see a night when I'm crafting. My average desk lamp and home lighting was just killing my eyes so I had to limit my craft hours to day time. And when you work a 9-to-5 that doesn't leave you with very many day light hours especially now that we're in the fall and winter months. But now I can work at night and see with great clarity what I'm doing.

I'd seen OttLites at local fabric and craft retailers but failed to understand what they were all about. I mean, I thought they were just another task lamp and a spendy one at that. I also thought they were for seniors and Boomers. But I was totally wrong on both counts.

At a friend's monthly craft night one of the ladies was using an OttLite and I could see quite clearly the amazing quality of the light. The most important thing to me was that it didn't cause glare and hurt my eyes. Also, the colors looked of my handicrafts looked great when held beneath this light source.

I ended up purchasing this OttLite OTL13MAG Task/Magnifier Lamp with Flip-Down Magnifier in Dove Grey. The assembly directions were probably the lamest thing about this product. They were were worse than an Ikea diagram!

Thank goodness I had seen one already set up and after giving a shout out to its owner she showed me how it was assembled. I didn't know that to turn it off or on all you had to do was close the clamshell light to its base. I honestly don't think I could have figured it out if she hadn't shown me.

Other than that,this product is of very high quality and pretty rugged. I also love that clamshell design because it makes the OttLite very portable.

Also, in addition to doing my crafts with it, I've read it's great for photographing your finished product. I haven't done this yet but if you notice an improvement in the white balance of my photos on Etsy you'll know why!

As of this week local fabric and crafts stores are currently having a sale on the OttLite for 50% off but I've found better deals on Amazon with free shipping. This may all be due to the fact that it's Thanksgiving weekend so on-line retailers maybe competing with brick and mortar storefronts and slashing prices. But it pays to shop around.

Whatever you pay for your OttLite -whether its sale or not -it's totally worth it. This task lamp is probably my number one tool for crafting and art work ever. Seriously.

I use this drop-in with my Surefire 6Z. (For the 6Z and probably others you'll want to leave out the big spring.) It produces more light than the original bulb, stays brighter longer, doesn't get hot after a few minutes, and won't burn out any time soon.

This replacement is a no-brainer, especially if you are replacing a burnt out "original" bulb, as it will pay for itself in a very short while.

BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I ordered this item for my Surefire G2. When I received it I took off the large spring and placed it into the flashlight with amazing results. Without replacing the tailcap I was able to get all three brightness settings, the strobe setting and the SOS setting.

I bought this led bulb replacement for my surefire G2 nitrolon (65 lumen), which I have had for about 8 years. Although it does not shine brighter than my 6p led 120 lumen flashlight, (this claims 250+ lumens), this is by no means a weak led. The three light settings, including STROBE, was something that I didn't expect. The led replacement worked flawlessly mereley by changing the bulb assembly. Well worth the money.

The one I received has a purple butterfly, a pink and a green flower. The flowers have fiber optic "stems" and the butterfly does as well. There is also a spray of fiber optic pieces behind the flowers and butterfly. I put it in the bathroom and it gives off a mild light. The base where the fiber optic pieces are give off the most light and the tips give of a glowing white light. It also has an on off switch. I do think it would have been prettier if the tips changed colors, but I can see how that might not have been as effective as a nightlight.

I wanted a switch to control some linked flourescent lights on my workbench. Both lights have an on/off switch, and I mounted them in an area that is not all that easy to get to both switches. My proposed solution was to wire an inline on/off switch to the power cord, so that I only needed to flip this one switch, located in a more accessable area, in order to turn the lights on and off.

This switch has pretty beefy construction, and feels as though it will hold up over time. There are two small screws that hold it together on the back, and the switch seems to be pretty solid and should last a long time. My reason for docking it two stars is the internal connection points for the wiring. There are two internal posts with set screws in them. You basically cut one side of your power cord, and set-screw it in place in the switch. I was using a standard size power cord, and the set screws do not seem to really grasp the wires as well as I would like. I need to come up with a better solution, as the way it is set up right now, a swift tug on the cord would easily pull the wiring out of the set-screw posts and out of the switch. May not seem like a big deal to some, but with little kids in the house, that means there is a pretty high risk of a live power wire coming out of the switch if they start pulling on a cord.

I think the proper solution here is going to require either a metal lead to properly secure to the set-screw and potentially some soldering for peace of mind. If this switch had some sort of wire insert connection with anti-back out (and I have seen these in much lower priced items), I would have given it 5 stars.

1. The grommets for the wire holes are very small, too small to let any extension cord through.

2. Even after removing the grommets I had to file away the plastic case to let the cord fit.

3. Very hard to get the case back together after getting the wire in place due to bad design. The screw posts have a small cylinder shape on the side the wire screws onto, and a larger cylinder on the other side to go around the smaller cylinder. Should be the other way around because getting the larger cylinder to squeeze past the electric cord was quite difficult.

4. Plastic is fragile someone could easily strip the threads when tightening a screw.

We have two identical LED reading lamps that flickered oh so slightly. Clicking the switches several times would solve the problem for a few minutes, but then they would begin to flicker again. I figured it was bad switch contacts. No sense in throwing out perfectly good lamps with bad switches, so I got a couple of these for about five bucks for the two of them. It took me about ten minutes to replace each one, and what a difference, the lights remained solid and steady. These really look and feel like nice, quality devices. We are very pleased.

This switch has a little darker, more of an ivory color than pictured, I like the color very much.

Very easy to install, and the switch mechanism has a solid click and firm feel, like quality. No negative issues with this product, works well, looks good. Recommended.

I installed this on top of a valence in just a few minutes. The only reason for a 4 rating is that I think the switch could have the power sockets on the ends instead of on the side of the switch body, which would make a neater installation.

I replaced a set of 3 halogen spotlights underneath some cabinets in a small home office. I'm getting now nice even white light, great for reading and working, it also produces a nice backlight for my iMac reducing eye strain.

Installation is simple, plugging in a new dvd player is more complicated. Just bring some patience to properly align them if you don't have a guide line to follow.

I will try the warm led in my kitchen and get rid of the energy hogging fluorescent lights!

There is something wrong with the starter for these light bulbs (this is the second one I have bought). After a few days and after warming up, the light starts to flicker off and on. Being a two bulb system, I am assuming that only one bulb is doing the flickering. It seems a shame to have to buy a complete new fixture just to change out the light bulb; however, the starter could also be inside the fixture which is also a Lithonia product I believe.

I own this light. It is plenty powerful enough, however, even with the amber diffuser cap on, it produces a green tint in many incandescent lighting situations. I'm a wedding photographer so I need to do a lot of things "on the fly" as things can happen very quickly at a wedding. Adjusting WB to compensate for green, sure can be frustrating when it's time to get the shot. For the price I would expect a higher quality item. Also if you lose the charger or burn out the battery you will have a really tough time finding either one. All in all, this light works much better outside for night time stuff as opposed to dark reception halls.

Seems to be a solid product and the filters are pretty neat. I read in another review that this torch has a slight green tent but have not yet confirmed that. I would recommend getting the VariZoom Adjustable Swivel Shoe to attach to the light as it doesn't come with anything. Yes it will screw onto a light stand but no pivoting.

I purchased this at a Wppi Road Trip Seminar from Doug Gordon for $325 with show special 20% discount. He list's this product at $429 on his website so you are at the right place to purchase it. Really didn't expect the gouging.

I'll update this review after I use this LED some more and talk about the CTO filter again.

I really like these bulbs, because they come with a night light on the regular bulb which I have never seen before and is very clever! I can use the night light by turning off the bulb and back on within 3 seconds, then back off and on to return to the regular light. I use these outside by the patio for a night light. It's enough light to see to let the dog out which is all I need. I plan to buy more for out front to have some light out there at night too. Great idea! I hope Satco keeps making these unique bulbs!

Great product. CFL is warm 3000K ish light. LED is daylight 5000k ish light. Do a quick on off and switch from CFL to night light mode. Use one of these in a recessed can light in the kitched to function as a night light and it functions well. Matches other CFL floods as well.

Mendards is only other place I have found a similar product but it is cheaper here.
