I got four bulbs to compare:
1. Lightkiwi 4w warm white 60 mm high
2. LightingEVER 6 watt bulb (53 mm high)
3. HitLights 3 watt dimmable
4. HitLights 6 watt dimmable (72mm high)
Here's what I found:
Lightingkiwi 4 watt:
Pros:
o nice enough color. Definitely cooler and whiter than halogen I'd say it's about 3100-3200 range. Certainly acceptable
o *the* brightest, highest light output of any of these bulbs 4 w or 6 w. I would say it's roughly equivalent to a 50W halogen much brighter than my 35W halogens
o *almost* instant-on (barely noticeable delayyou will hardly know it's there)
o decent heatsink with an okay amount of surface area.
Cons:
o really not any to speak of.
Other considerations (not pros or cons, just something to be aware of):
o it's taller than the halogen by about 5mm, about same in diameter. Just make sure it fits in your fixture
Bottom line:
I'm not going to buy these because they are just too bright for my application wall sconces to add 'mood lighting'. However if you need a lot of light, and your fixture can fit the slightly taller size, this is the one to get.
2. LightingEVER 6 watt bulb (53 mm high)
pros:
o really nice color best of the four. A smidge cooler than the 35 watt halogen, but I would say I even prefer this. If you are looking for the closest color match, this will probably be the one to choose
o very compact size same or even smaller than the halogen
o nice legit-looking packaging, with clearly marked brightness, color temp, CRI, etc.
cons:
o a noticeable delay when turning on cold about a second, made me wonder if I didn't put it in all the way. Slowest of the bunch.
o heat sink has the least amount of surface area of these. Makes me wonder if it will last.
o dim by comparison at 280 lumens(claimed) it's closer to the brightness of a 35W halogen (260 lumens), not the 50 watt halogen as it claims
other considerations
bottom line:
If your fixture doesn't have much space to fit anything more than a standard halogen, look no further. Otherwise there are brighter cheaper or more dimmable alternatives
3. HitLights 3 watt dimmable
pros:
o Instant on. No delay whatsoever.
o Very bright for a 3 watt bulb. I originally did not even consider 3 watt LEDs thinking they won't be nearly bright enough to replace a 35 watt halogen bulb. Boy was I wrong. This 3 watt producess almost exactly the same amount of light as a 35 watt halogen a savings of 32 watts!
o Almost the same size as the halogen it replaces no issues with not fitting into even the smaller fixtures
o The color temperature is what I would consider warm. Not quite as yellowish as a halogen, with a slight greenish tint, but to my eye very much acceptable.
o Dimmable! at this price that makes it a very good value.
o Same exact price as Halogens that my contractor purchased from a lighting store.
cons:
o Nothing significant. Again, the color has a slight greenish tint, but within acceptable range to my subjective opinion.
Other notes:
I don't have these on a dimmer so I could not test how well they dim and I can't attest to it.
Bottom line: This is the best bulb of the ones I have tested.
4. HitLights 6 watt dimmable (72mm high) (This product)
pros:
o best heat sink of the four bulbs
o nice color almost as nice as the Lighting EVER not quite, but very close.
o dimmable bulb for the same price as the other 6W bulb
o literally instant-on, one of two fastest of all four
cons:
o not as bright as the 4 watt lightKiwi. It's roughly as bright as a 35W halogen, not 50w halogen
Other considerations:
largest of the four, at 72mm it's 18mm larger than the halogen. It's not a pro or a con, if you have the space in your fixture, which I do. If you don't, then it's a con.
I have not tried these with a dimmer. I do have a spare one, so I will install and test it at some point.
Bottom line: nice color, dimmable, perfect amount of light for my application.

I really WANTED to like this bulb, but the color is just awful. It is the same cheap bluish color light as LED flashlights or those annoying "too bright" car headlights that look like arc welders. I tried the bulb in my desk lamp but it would be depressing to work under such artificial colored light...like working in a parking garage. I don't see how anyone could label this a "warm" light. It does have yellow reflectors behind the three LED's, but it is nowhere near warm; nowhere near the color of halogen. As for brightness, perceptually I'd say it's about a third less bright than my 50W halogen bulb.
So if you're considering trying this bulb out of curiosity, as I did, to see if it's a reasonable substitute for halogen, I'm writing this to save you the trouble/expense.
I'm eager to jump on the LED bandwagon, but only if I can find high CRI (color rendering index) warm white bulbs.
Best Deals for HitLights CREE 6W Warm White (3000K) MR16 Dimmable LED Light Bulb
Reasonably priced (half what the Phillips and Sylvania brands cost), very quick delivery.
They replaced three very hot 40-Watt halogens that put out a tremendous amount of heat. These LEDs consume only 6 Watts each and run correspondingly cooler. So instead of 150 Watts of heat bearing down on my head from my low ceiling, the three only use 18 Watts and I can barely feel them. I can also re-aim the eyeball housing long after they are lit. The halogens got so hot I wouldn't dream of touching them. Amazing!!!
This light bulb is relatively longer than the previous stand size bulb,please notice the size of picture.
In terms of Dimmable function, this light bulb works fine. You can not expect too much for this price.
By the way, Another comment mentioned that the light is too white, but I guess the seller sent the wrong item. What I got is warm white. feels great.

I am refinishing the basement, and replaced the lighting with recessed gu10 fixtures. I went through the following bulbs and here are my observations:
LED CREE Gu10 dimmable base 9W Flood 60 soft white bulb 3000k (warm white) led lamp (sold by led.factory) : I ordered 12 of these lights. In 3 months since then, 10 of them have already failed. Led.factory has yet to reply to my email. I ended up calling Amazon and they refunded me the money for these lights (for seven of them, actually). Its a shame, because I thought these lights gave out a very nice, neutral light not too warm, and not too cool either. One other thing... even though these are listed at dimmable, they only dim between like 90% and 100% of light... I would not classify these as dimmable. In any case, I am staying away from this seller and these lights.
THESE LIGHTS HitLights CREE 6W Warm White (3000K) MR16 Dimmable LED Light Bulb, GU10 Base, 50W Equivalence, 5 Year Warranty, UL Listed (sold by hitlights) : I ordered 18 of these lights. I did not have a single one break like the lights described above. They give off a very warm (yellowish) light similar to halogen bulbs. I thought we would stick with these lights until I added them to an Insteon dimmer and they started making a very slight buzz. If you're not planning on dimming and want warm lights, I think these hitlights bulbs are fantastic, especially since they are very price competitive. I am giving these 4 stars because they'd be my favorite if I didn't have to dim..
TORCHSTAR LED GU10 3200K Warm White Spotlight 110V 4W (330 Lumen 50 Watt Equivalent) 45 Degree Beam angle (sold by torchstar) : After being disappointed from the purchase of so many lights that I will not be using, I just ordered 1 of these. Good thing too, because the light given off by these bulbs is greenish when compared to the others. I didn't even bother testing it on a dimmer because the quality of the light was unacceptable. However, that's something that is very subjective so perhaps you'll like it.
Genuine Great Eagle LED MR16 GU10 120V Cool White Bulb. 50W Equivalent UL Certified 3500K 60° Fully Dimmable Flood Light (sold by great eagle) : I bought one of these bulbs. The light was obviously much cooler since this isn't the warm light model. Its a little cooler than the lights described above from led.factory. However, the great thing about these lights is that they dim very well (similar to the highlights probably from like 10% to 100%), and they do NOT make a noticeable buzz when on an Insteon dimmer. I have since ordered 41 more of these to finish out the rest of the basement lighting. I wish the great eagle bulbs weren't as expensive as the others above, but I guess you get what you pay for. I probably will be sticking with great eagle for future purchases.
Oh.. and I really do recommend first purchasing a single bulb to see if it satisfies your needs. I wasted a ton of cash on bulbs I will not be using :(

I bought these 6W cool white LED bulbs to replace a set of halogen bulbs in my kitchen lighting fixture. I did not like the heat emanating from the halogen bulbs along with the yellow tent of the halogen light. Additionally, the six 50 watt halogens were using a total of 300 watts just to have my kitchen light on. So I thought I would try these LED bulbs.
The HitLights cool white LED bulbs are excellent replacements for the halogen bulbs. I can verify that the 6 watt LED bulbs are equivalent to 50 watt halogens, with both producing about 350 to 400 lumens. These LED bulbs are in the 6000 to 7000 k range, which means they emit cool white light and not yellow light. I have a couple of compact fluorescence bulbs that are the 5,500k daylight bulbs meant to reproduce normal sunlight, and these HitLights LED bulbs are similar to the daylight bulbs. I did not think the the HitLights LED bulbs were too blue, instead I think they are a good medium tone plain white light. I recommend not mixing yellow lights (1000 to 2900k range) with daylight bulbs (5000 to 7000k range) because when mixed together they clash badly and cause eye strain. If you do want the yellow tone light HitLights does sell another version of this same LED bulb, so double check which one want before ordering.
The HitLights LED bulbs put out almost no heat. My kitchen light is 3 feet above the top of my head and when I had the halogens installed it felt light I was under a heat lamp. Now with the LED bulbs I feel no heat at all, and in fact have to put my hand up around the light fixture itself to feel any kind of warmth from the LED bulbs. Also, all six of these LED bulbs together only use 36 watts, which is a savings of 264 watts when compared to the halogens they replaced.
I should also mention that these LED bulbs are spotlight bulbs. My kitchen light fix is high on my ceiling with six individual lights pointed downward at various spots around the kitchen. For that kind of light fixture the spotlight bulbs work very well. I would just caution that if your light fixture is lower or closer these bulb might be too intense. The opposite of that is true as well, that if you light fixture is very high up these bulbs might not be able to flood an entire area.
Also of note, these GU10 based LED bulbs were identical in shape and size to the 50 watt halogen bulbs they replaced. The LED bulbs have a 2 year warranty. I have only had the HitLights LED bulbs installed for 3 days so I cannot comment on the longevity of these bulbs, but I would be surprised if I needed to replace them any time soon.
