I have only recently purchased this headlamp. I cannot vouch for durability or how it will last, but here are my initial impressions. Even though I have listed more cons, I believe the pros to outweigh the cons.

Pros

-Light weight

-No need to lug batteries around or worry that your battery will run out and leave you stranded in the dark

Cons

-No instructions

-Small headband

-Annoying bulky plastic packaging it comes in (I would think 'an earth friendly company' marketing a 'green item' would have more eco-friendly packaging materials)

-only 1 button to cycle through each mode and then turn off would be nicer to have a mode button and an on/off switch

The adjustable head band is kind of small, a lot smaller than head lamps I've had in the past. Maybe I just have a big head. It fits with all adjustments fully expanded, but it's a little tighter than I would like.

As others have stated, it's annoying not to have instructions on how to operate this lamp, and being plastic I was afraid I was going to break it.

I uploaded pictures to help understand my instructions. Here are my instructions, hope they help you:

-Flip the head lamp upside down

-Place your thumb in the middle of the base where it connects to the headband

-Push down on the piece of plastic/base and slide it towards the back of the headlamp (away from the bulb)

-Remove the Base

-Unfold the crank and crank away to charge the lamp

This is by far the best flashlight I've ever had in my life (as of today). I ordered this lamp on October 12, 2011. The key to this head lamp is knowing how to use it (which is hard considering that the lamp came in a package with absolutely NO instructions whatsoever).

Take the "base" (the part where the strap is attached to), then pull the "bulb" (the oval/egg shaped part that has the button and LED thing on the front) apart from the base. It'll snap, so then you just gently pull the two apart. Now theres a lever that you can just flip up and wind (be careful because the handle is very small).

Once you've winded it for a bit (I suggest winding it for a minute), now just press the button for three different "styles" (Dim, bright, and blinking bright).

*Tip*

The button is a little tricky to press. You have to find your own "style" of pressing it (Pressing and sliding up/down or just simply pressing hard).

Wonderfull light, easy to use and puts out a lot of light. It really is great to not have to worry about dead batteries ever!

Honest reviews on Mitaki-Japan Crank Led Head Lamp

I think that the idea of "not having to get/have batteries" is a plus. However, it is very difficult to get the crank out and there are no directions included with this head lamp. The manufacturer should include some instructions with this product.

The only reason this doesn't get five stars is b/c it's a bit difficult to detach the flashlight from the base, but once you figure it out it's pretty easy. It slides forward and then you just lift it off. It needs to be detached to wind it. Holds a charge very well and has a bright light. And you can use it detached as just a flashlight. Very useful product. Will buy more of these!

My options for solar lights on a dock post were limited and this Gamasonic model were one of the few that fit the dimensions I had to work with. The light it gives off is enough. It's not enough to read by, but for a soft, decorative glow it's fine.

As for the rust, I just noticed it yesterday. I used stainless steel screws but the screws are not the part that is showing rust, rather there are specs of rust on the base that have appeared after only less than a month of installation. It's not even rainy season so I'm not sure what to think. i have two and one is fine but the other is showing signs of rust. I'm disappointed.

This is perfect answer to lamp post that has lost power. The base was concrete and its 50 feet to the house. Time to go green. This lamp throws plenty of light. Easy to place on pole. Construction not high quality but still looks good and price is right. I'm very happy with the lamp.

I have over 40 MR-16 lights outside and over 50 inside. At 50W per halogen bulb, I want energy efficient replacements, but the quest for LED bulbs hasn't been easy. I compare this bulb with two other top-rated bulbs I've bought, the LED MR16 Spotlight 12V 4.5W (370 Lumen 45 Watt Equivalent) 45 Degree 4000K Cool and the LED MR16 Spotlight 12V 4.5W (330 Lumen 45 Watt Equivalent) 45 Degree 2900K Warm.

Color: This bulb has a clean, white light without a blue or green tint the most natural (or least distracting) I've found so far in an MR-16 LED. It's definitely whiter than the 2900K and warmer than the 4000K bulbs reminds me of the GE Reveal incandescent bulbs. But it's no halogen if you want that soft, warm, yellow light for ambiance, this bulb won't come close.

Beam angle: The 4 lenses don't disperse the light very well even though it claims a 60 degree angle. It definitely spotlights down. If it's installed close to a wall, the lenses create streaking lights against the wall due to refraction i.e. no smooth oval outline. This may not be a problem if the bulb is recessed deep into the housing (or if you don't care about the outline). The 2900K and 4000K bulbs disperse wider even though they claim only a 45 degree angle. Again, nowhere close to a halogen.

Brightness: The lighted spot itself is actually brighter than the 2900K bulb but because the dispersion is worse, it feels darker from a distance. I think it's better suited for task or spotlighting than, say, a room or closet. The 4000K is brighter. It's not a 50W halogen equivalent somewhere between 20-35W is more accurate.

Size: It's deeper than a standard MR-16 but not as deep as the 2900K and 4000K bulbs. It doesn't fit some of my fixtures. Be sure to check that you have an additional 1/4" depth clearance for this bulb.

Temperature: This bulb runs hotter than the 2900K and 4000K bulbs. It's probably because the LEDs are recessed behind the 4 lenses where heat gets trapped whereas the other two have exposed LEDs. But it's a fraction of the halogen. I was able to remove the LED by hand within a minute after switching off.

Bottom line: It's a good LED replacement for a 20-35W halogen depending on where you install it, probably better outside than inside. It's also very inexpensive for a LED. If color temperature and brightness are important to you, you'll need to get one and see it for yourself all LEDs just differ too much. I'm getting more for some of my fixtures, but I'm still hunting for better color and brightness that match the halogen bulbs. I'll update the review about reliability later on.

Update on 5/13/2013: I was reviewer #3 of this bulb, and it's been over a year. 4 of the bulbs have failed under daily use. 3 started flickering off and on at first, then cut off completely. 1 turns on but is about 1/5 of its original brightness. This is a 5% failure rate. I have purchased several other LED bulbs and will update this review later to compare. I still think this is a good bulb at a good price, but I'm may drop my rating if I get more failures. One other warning. Every order I placed after the first one came with the promise of a discount or rebate if I gave this bulb a 5 star review. I still stand by my original 4 star rating. But it makes me wonder if some of the 5 star reviews have been "bought."

Update on 7/13/2013: 8 of the bulbs from a lighting set of 22 have now failed under 8-10 hours of daily use. 2 more bulbs from another less used set have failed. That's a 36% failure rate in less than a year and a half for the first set and 12.5% overall failure rate out of 80 bulbs I bought. Are these TORCHSTAR bulbs really worth it? I compare the bulb against my gold standard halogen bulb the Ushio Titan FNV 50W. The Ushio has fantastic color, dispersion and longevity (rated 18,000 hours on par with LED). 80 Ushio bulbs lasted over 7 years at 8-10 hours of daily use (only 2 failed bulbs) before I replaced them with TORCHSTAR bulbs. I have 20+ Ushios still going strong elsewhere. Both bulbs cost about the same. At 10 cents per kWh and 9 hours a day over 7 years, the Ushio cost: $7 (bulb) + $16.38 / year * 7 years = $122. The TORCHSTAR would cost: $7 / bulb * 5 bulbs for 7 years + $1.31 / year * 7 years = $44. TORCHSTAR is roughly 1/3 the cost of the Ushio over its lifetime. But the TORCHSTAR is about half to 2/3 as bright as the Ushio. If I were to use a Ushio 35W, the TORCHSTAR rises to roughly 1/2 the cost over its lifetime to a comparable halogen. 50% savings is great, but nothing to write home about when it comes to LED. Never mind the hassle of replacing bulbs more often. I'm better off with a more expensive, higher quality LED bulb that lasts longer. I'm dropping my rating from 4 to 3 due to the short life of this TORCHSTAR bulb. It's a decent to good bulb, not a great one.

Update on 10/17/2013: 3 more months, and 3 more failed bulbs. That is now 13 failures out of the set of 22 that gets 8-10 hours of daily use. A TORCHSTAR representative has claimed that the bulb's quality has improved. I will order a few more new bulbs to verify and update this review with the results.

I have tested 11 different brands of led MR 16 lamps, looking for lamps with a warm white color and a high

level of light output. Price also enters into the picture as I need a large number of them. I use them

to light my model railroad scenes. The railroad occupies 2000 square feet of space. I am converting the

lighting from halogen to LED lamps to reduce the power consumption so I am looking for lamps with comparable

color. I have found two other brands with comparable performance but at three times the cost. For me, the

two important specfications I look for are color temperature, 3200K or less. Light output 320 Lumens or

greater. Torchstar 4 watt led MR 16 lamps meet both specificatons and at a reasonable cost. Torchstar lamps

also operate well on both 12 volts AC and 12 volts DC. Several of the lamps I tested have a very annoying

flicker when operated on 12 volts AC.

"LED MR16 3200K Warm White Spotlight 12V 4W (340 Lumen 50 Watt Equivalent) 60 Degree Beam angle" did it for me.

Illumination These came out a little whiter than I expected compared to my halogen bulbs, but still warm enough for 3200K.

Dimmable These were advertised as dimmable, which others weren't for around the same price range.

Price One of the most inexpensive ones on Amazon for the features it offers.

Power Enough power and brighter than my original halogen bulbs.

Beam Angle Great angle, if you are looking for a wide angle beam.

Low Wattage Like most other LED bulbs, these are 4W, and they don't heat up like halogen. Love it. Power Saver!

Honest reviews on TORCHSTAR LED MR16 3200K Warm White Spotlight 12V 4W (330 Lumen

We have about 50 halogen MR16 bulbs lighting a small bookstore. The LED bulbs do fit and function just like an MR16 bulb but the light is not the same. The negatives, from least important to me to most are: The spread is narrower. The light weaker in comparison. The hue has a greenish tint.

I purchased two of these bulbs and installed them over a month ago. I was really tempted to purchase replacements for our whole facility, but I wanted to see how they worked. I can say that side by side comparison to a halogen, the shelves appear dim under the LED. When I hold my hand out about 4 feet under the bulbs, one below the halogen, one below the LED, my hand looks greenish/grey under the LED where it looks pink and normal under the halogen.

I would love to get these but I'll just wait until the technology gets better.

That said, I should note that depending on your application my complaints may not be an issue to you. We are a retail store and want to flatter the merchandise and facility as much as possible. If you are looking for utility lighting etc. where aesthetics aren't a concern, these LEDs are a cheap and easy solution.

I was a bit worried at first many of my friends had replaced with their down lights with high voltage products and removed their 12 V transformers, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found that all I had to do was replace the bulbs, and the dimming still worked. I went with the Warm colour to emulate traditional down lights, and now am using 4W per light instead of 50W. The other things I was warned of was the flicker of using 12V on my transformers. I installed five of them and have not noticed any flicker regardless of dimmer settings. I did this as an experiment in one bedroom only. On my next order I will get enough to do the whole house. Happy to recommend the lights, as they actually perform as promised. Amazing there is so much rubbish out there too, so its nice to get something that does what it says!

This 12w bulb has a very nice, warm look to it. The note says 750Lumens. and that the description says that it will replace a 100W. Personally, the 100w warm white is equal to 900-1000Lumens neither 750 nor 1750 as last reviews. The difference is the traditional light give 360 degree. and the LED give 120-140degree. So from the downside point, this 12W LED light will give you the feeling of 100w. This would be good for ceiling locations where you don't want much light going up. Anyway, I'm looking forward to not changing the bulb for around 10 years.

Let's see.

I put these in my bathroom vanity. They are much brighter than expected. They do have a tiny delay, which I estimate to be about a third of a second. It doesn't bother me. I'm itching to buy more and replace all my bulbs, but I'm trying to use up all my CFL first. After seeing the performance of these, I will not buy another CFL. Three of these in a ceiling fan fixture light our living room nicely. I've purchased 4 of these so far and intend to purchase more.

Highly recommend!

Best Deals for HitLIghts A19 Warm White (2700K) AffordXII 12W LED Light Bulb

The color and brightness of this bulb make it a perfect replacement for a 60W incandescent A19 or PAR20 bulb where the application does not require an omnidirectional distribution of light or dimming.

The color temperature almost exactly matches an incandescent bulb, and in a desk lamp or can light in my view it is impossible to tell the difference. The size is almost the same too, while some other LED bulbs tend to be a bit longer. Plus unlike some other LEDs bulbs which I also like, this one stays remarkably cool. You can touch the heat sink after the bulb has been on for several hours and it just feels pleasantly warm. And unlike a CFL it is of course instant on at full brightness.

It's not quite as efficient in terms of lumens per watt as some other LED bulbs I am using from G7, but it is at least as good as a CFL and has none of the associated drawbacks.

The price is a bit on the high side, otherwise I'd be buying dozens of these bulbs to retire my CFLs. If the price suits you, buy this bulb with the confidence it performs as specified.

Honest reviews on HitLIghts A19 Warm White (2700K) AffordXII 12W LED Light Bulb

I've tried a number of LED bulbs, and have them installed throughout the house. This one is reasonably good.

What I like:

Nice and bright. It does seem to meet the lumens rating.

What I think is acceptable, but not great:

1. Color is not quite what I would call "warm white". It's a little bluer than incandescent, but acceptable.

2. Light is somewhat directional. Not much light goes to the sides. I put it in an overhead light (not a lamp), so the directional nature is not as objectionable.

I still like the Philips bulbs the best for light color and directionality.

I ordered three of these to replace Ecosmart G25 60w compact fluorescent bulbs in a kitchen ceiling fixture which took forever to warm up to full brightness. I initially replaced one of three for comparison purposes. Wow what a difference. Instant white brightness in the new bulb and prolonged dim bluish color in the Bulb shaped CFL'S before they brightened and whitened. If they last anywhere near the average life expectancy, I will be thrilled. Also the price of LCD's has finally dropped to a reasonable expense, another incentive, although shipping costs were too high. Update it is now less than a year later and one of the three bulbs has started flickering on and almost totally off. For the price and hyped longevity of this product, I am now somewhat disapointed. Hilights is clearly a cheaper and poorer quality product than I expected.

To clear up a couple of points that the product description did not make clear: This LED lamp ships with both NiMH rechargeable batteries, and a set of alkaline batteries. Recharging is done with a micro-USB port on the side of the lamp, using a standard USB-to-micro-USB cable (included), plugged into your pre-existing USB power source (not included).

After living with this lamp for a week or two, I see it as a very well designed object, something I am glad to use. Creative people worked effectively to make this happen. For example, the controls via a single button require learning just a few simple rules of thumb and then become highly intuitive (after reading the little manual, and studying the pictograms). The continuously variable brightness control (hold down the button until you get the light level you want) is ingenious. Control can be operated with neoprene gloves on.

Nice touches of the design: The control button operates without clicking, so you can operate this without waking people up. Red Mode (dim, for preserving night vision) is entered without cycling through the bright modes. The charging process gives feedback about when the batteries are charged, and when they are fully conditioned. The charger drops back to occasional trickle charge once fully charged, so you won't damage your batteries by leaving the lamp plugged in at all times even if you go months without using it.

I was really excited about this product as an off grid solution with my solar power system. Unfortunately though I learned the hard way that the fancy recharging capability in the headlamp ONLY works with black diamond brand AAA NIMH batteries. If you are using any other NIMH rechargeables they will not charge via the usb cable in the headlamp, you will need a separate charger to recharge them.

Best Deals for Black Diamond ReVolt Headlamp

I bought this headlamp as a result of it receiving a Best of 2013 award from Backpacker magazine.

Pros:

* The single LED spotlight mode is the best I've used in any small flashlight for reaching down the trail. You could hike a well groomed trail at night with this headlamp.

* The red LED feature is very helpful in preserving night vision when getting up at night.

* The two flood LEDs do a better than average job of lighting up close work in camp, but I have other headlamps that are marginally better in this area. (My criteria for this feature is a soft, general area illumination without a center "hotspot".)

* The dimmer feature is very good with the flood LED's, such as reading in bed, in order to reduce glare and conserve battery power. I do not see a purpose for this feature in the other two modes (spot and red LED).

* It's great to be able to charge the rechargable batteries from a laptop USB port.

* The ability to use either rechargable or single use batteries is a significant plus, allowing the light to be used in both overnight and expedition treks.

Cons:

* The one-button-for-all-functions design is poor. The button has to be poked, mashed, and held down in a specific order to access the various modes and functions. Since it's not obvious what type of poking initiates which mode, there's an unnecessary amount of trial and error involved each time in just getting the right light to turn on. Better is single function buttons for each feature. Subtract one star.

* The elastic head strap lacks an over-the-top strap. The weight of the light tends to make it slide down during periods of high activity. Make the strap removable for those that choose not to use it.

Overall, it's a great light and I recommend it as a great all purpose light to take, if you're only taking one on the trail. It would be perfect if the button issue was corrected.

Honest reviews on Black Diamond ReVolt Headlamp

Perfect headlamp for me. I'm a mechanic and this headlamp does a great job with lighting on various jobs. The ability to adjust the brightness settings has been the most beneficial.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Black Diamond ReVolt Headlamp

I usually use the wide-angle mode, especially while cooking or walking around camp in the dark, because it gives me better peripheral vision than the spot mode. The spot mode is wonderfully-bright for seeing in the distance, but, like most headlamps, the light drops off too much for near work.

I also really appreciate the ability to change the brightness, either so I don't blind people when looking at them (really good in wide-angle mode) as well as to save the battery life.

I've never run the provided rechargeable batteries out on a weekend's camping, but I really appreciate that I can recharge them, either from the same battery backup I carry for my iPhone or from my BioLite stove. I actually bought this headlamp to use with the BioLite stove, but I'm very glad I did for the brightness and flexibility of lights.

The size adjustment strap is easily adjusted

Con: I wish this came with a carrying pouch, like the Petzl (and many other) headlamps do.

Minor Gripes:

* It did take me some practice to figure out the button sequences, but now it's (almost) second-nature.

* I wish the lamp would remember the dimmer settings when you switch modes, as it comes on full-bright.

Overall, I highly recommend this headlamp.

I've had two of these in use for several (summer) months. They do what they're supposed to do, shed a little light on my front steps and look nice. I said a little light--they're far from floodlights, but they make it much safer to use the steps when the porch light is off, and I really wouldn't want more constant light at my mountain home. They are in a partially shaded area (less than ideal, but that's where the steps are) reducing the charging time, but they stay on as late as I'm up--I haven't checked to see if they are still at full brightness by 3 am. I'll be interested to see how they do in the winter with the shorter days, and will also be interested to see how the battery life is, but at least they use standard batteries which are easily and inexpensively replaced.

* * * * * *

Update a year later: These are still working as I described above. They don't charge up as much in the winter, with the shorter days, but provide light for four or five hours into the evening. The batteries still seem to be fine, and they've survived the weather just fine. I came here to order an additional light for another location, which will be in full sun all day and will therefore charge better and stay on longer.

These were nice looking and worked as expected for the first few months. By the end of 1 year, everyone has failed. On some, the plastic covering the solar panel has turned opaque. None light up at all now.

As a note I think they are copper colored plastic, not real copper.

The supplied batteries die in minutes not hours. The supplied Ni-Cd (2-AA) were EXTREEMLY poor. $10.00 for new rechargeable batteries and you are in business. The difficulty of opening the installed unit for service and battery change is unusually difficult due to the design of the latch between halves. That said, they are VERY BEAUTIFUL, if a bit dim (average light output for this style light.)

Honest reviews on McFarland Cascade Terratec Solar Post Cap, Copper, Fits 4x4-Inch

Let's break down what isn't obvious from the picture:

The only copper component is the top.

There are four solar cells so this unit is great for grabbing sunlight from any direction.

The remainder of the unit is plastic, but this worked in my favor on two different locations (see below).

The recessed area that the 4x4 goes into is about 3/4" deep.

There are two holes in the bottom (one can be seen) and two mounting screws provided.

Packaging:

I normally don't have any packing issues with Amazon purchases, just the gorillas at the shipping companies who handle the packages. This was no exception, and all eleven ordered arrived safely. The units are packaged from the manufacturer in bubble wrap, and individually boxed. Then Amazon placed the boxes inside a large box with more bubble packaging. UPS (as always) was kind enough to test the tensile strength of the box Amazon provided. I imagined the truck rolling off the side of a cliff before it arrived at my house based on the condition of the package, but Amazon packaging prevailed.

Preperation:

Once these are out of the box, the copper top can be turned about 15 degrees and removed from the base. There's a switch underneath that has to be turned on and that's it. These are auto-on at dusk from there. Pop the top back on and they're ready to mount.

Installation:

Two screws it's a breeze. I mentioned earlier that the plastic base was a blessing in hindsight...I needed to mount two of these on the end of handrails beside steps. The handrails were angled with the steps, and the post had been cut only about 1/4" higher than the handrail at the bottom. I used my dremel and a cutoff blade to remove 1/2" of plastic on one side of the base. This allowed the base to skirt the handrail and sit flush on top of the 4x4. Easy.

Operation:

Because there are four solar cells, orientation is moot in regards to catching sunlight. These are automatic on and off, and every one I bought lasts through the entire night they're still on when I wake up, so I get to catch them turning off at daybreak. Actual light output is not bad. These are definitely not intended for illuminating a deck or porch for normal use (unless you purchase an absurd number of them), but they are brighter than most ornamental solar lights I've seen.

Overall, they look great, are easy to setup and install, and have the added bonus of being minimally functional (versus trying to find your way in pitch darkness). We don't regret purchasing them and I could definitely recommend them to others with confidence. Drop me any questions or comments if you wish.

Cheers!

I ordered 4 of these bulbs. They came on time and were packaged well. They are a built-up type and are built very well. I can find nothing like them at this price at any home center. I am using them in my living room and outside my garage. I have called the company for a question and they answered me immediately. They are not dimmable but they are suitable for outdoors. I have them in enclosed lamps and they are working quite well. The outdoor lamps are on a dusk-to-dawn switch and hadle that well. They even work well when the temp gets below 20 degrees. The light in the living room is the same as we had with cfl, using a lot less wattage. The company was great to talk to and very friendly. They are nice folks. The bulbs give out arctic white light. I would purchase more of these. GFR

Don't buy these bulbs after about 1 1/2 months they stoped working one at a time until all five I purchased quit in a couple weeks time.

Wow, this was an easy replacement. Three of these replaced halogens with MR 16 bases in an overhead track light. No polarity worries that I could see, just plugged them in.

The amount of light is as good as before and there's less heat than the halogens.

The lamp will be perfect for my granddaughter. She will be going away to college next year and we all know that dorm rooms are small. The lamp will be a way to do a couple of things at once without taking up a lot of space.

Really a sweet little lamp. Got it for my granddaughter for Christmas. I am thinking about getting one for my spare bedroom. Love the silver color. Looks more expensive than it really was.

I bought this lamp/speaker for my nieces remodeled bedroom and it looks great and the sound is better than we expected. Also, we could not beat the price...even at WalMart. Thanks!!

Honest reviews on Vibe Candy 1 Light iPod Table Lamp Finish: Metallic Blue

The product is lightweight, and kinda flimsy feeling, but we got them for our kids room and they work great. Sound is loud for the size, not the best, but good for the price. Worked with ipod touch and ipod nano. Comes with several adapters.

I bought this for my daughter's birthday. She has a Sony MP3 and I was looking unsuccessfully for a good speaker system for it, I stumbled upon this. What an awesome spacesaving ideal, you get a lamp, speaker and good place to store your MP3. Of course if you have anything other than an IPOD you cannot use the docking station but using the headphone jack is just as good. It is a nice looking lamp, the sound from the speakers is great. We are very happy with it.

The quality of the LED bulb is very good. I have had it in service for a couple months so far now. It is still bright and going strong. Run it every day, 12 hours a day. The color is perfect looks just like the incandescent that it replaced.

Have tried it in several applications with success. This includes outdoor landscape path lamps, indoor clip-on type desk lamps and in the work van dome light. All worked perfect with this bi-pin type bulb.

A word it will replace a 10 watt halogen bulb with same intensity of light. But it is too dim to replace a 20 watt. But this bulb does do what it is supposed to do more.

The shipping was very fast... I think it came in three business days. The quality of the light seems VERY good. Time will tell how long it will last. I used it to replace a 10 watt Halogen bulb for a cheap bi-pin malibu landscape light system. The light was the same spectrum of warm light as the malibu bi-pin. I could not tell the difference. This is equivalent to a 10 watt... maybe just slightly more bright. It will not be even close to a 20 watt.

I put the bulb into existing fixtures, replacing halogen bulbs. I upgraded the wiring to 12 guage, just to be sure that I could extend it in the future without seeing a voltage drop.

Heat:

Some other reviews have mentioned heat. To test this, I put my transformer on continuous and left the lights on for two days straight. Throughout the test, I would touch the bulb to see if there was excessive heat which could potentially cause a burnout. Not only did nothing burn out, the bulb was cool to the touch after being on for two days straight.

Size:

It is only slightly longer than the halogen bulb it replaced

Light Quality:

It is warm white, roughly equivalent to the 10 watt bulb it replaced.

Price to longevity ratio:

At 8 bucks a piece, it remains to be seen how much money each bulb will save. If the bulb lasts 50000 hours, I will save $32 bucks in energy savings plus the cost of replacement bulbs. Bulb for bulb, it will take me 18 months of 8 hour per night use to break even on the cost of this bulb with my current cost of energy.

Replaced two 10 watt 12vdc with these SMD bulbs. Not only were the SMD's rated at a higher lux they only use 1.5 watt. Very pleased with the LED strategy. A discovered Boon, they did not require polarization.

This bulb replaced the under cabinet filament bulbs in my RV. The bulbs produce a nice warm light like the filament bulbs, but are cool to the touch and use less power.

I got this as a gift from my mother, but the dragonfly's wings broke off when dropped and I had to order a replacement. This is cute and performs as described. The colors change every couple of seconds and the light is not so bright as to be annoying. I have mine near the front yard where the kids can see it, but it would look cool to have several of them placed in high grass or plants.

I bought this item for my classroom. I had a slight bigger one but the face broke off of it. So that why I bought another one. It was small but great for display on my counter.

upon visual inspection it seemed to be of decent quality, but the light did not work. I wanted a replacement but I was going to have to ship it back at my expense. Not happy and very disappointed with the item as wellas the seller.

Extremely loud when it rotates, you can hear it through a closed door. For money thought product would be better. Wish I had bought something else.

This product is ok. I bought it for my son's room. It makes loud clicking noises as it rotates and sometimes wakes my son up from his sleep.
