At first I wasn't too impressed because the batteries were wore down when I received it. I was going to return it as defective but decided to first try some different batteries. I'm so glad I did! It then worked perfectly.
The bird is motion activated so when I walk by it merrily twitters. Very pleasing. It makes me smile, so I wave to it, and it merrily twitters again. I feel happy and with my presence acknowledged my day is that much brighter.
When I turn off the light at night, it twitters merrily one last time and then starts glowing steadily. The colors change ever so gradually through the night.
There's a button on the bottom to turn it off if you want to save on batteries. My batteries get drained in just a few days. But the fun is in having it on. So I've now got a "smart battery charger" and some more rechargable batteries ordered so I can keep the "happiness" going.

The bird and the rock are solid and reasonably well made. It works as advertised, although the volume of the bird's chirping is quite low. It can be a little difficult to hear. made some noise but never worked correctly. Fell over on a rug and brokeinto three pieces. Waste of money.

We have a hotel and place the songbird near the door so guests activate it going in and out. Nice song brings a smile to their faces.
