This is the brightest solar powered light I've found. I have it on my 12x16' deck and it casts a nice light. I didn't want to light up the back yard and I'm saving many $$ by not having to hire an electrician to run wires. This is a quality product made of cast aluminum with real glass and new technology batteries. The above reviewer's expectations were not meant, no need to bash a quality product.

I purchased this to replace one that stopped working after 6 Years, it was an Intermatic Malibu light. I must say that the Gamasonic fit the bill and is brighter although one thing they should have done, would be to install the selection Hi/Lo/off switch on the outside of the lamp instead of having to remove the top section to access it.Best Deals for Gama Sonic Royal Solar-Charged LED Lantern, 3-Inch Fitter for Post

I bought this to replace a standard ac powered pole light. This is very nice looking and puts out plenty of light. We live in Florida so the solar charge is good even now in a cool, short, January day. I read other reviews and knew that it is made from pot metal and plastic, so I was careful with the screws. Took about 1/2 hour to completely install. saved a lot of money in repairs on my old wiring and the new light is prefect. Plenty of light for the front yard, but not enough to read my kindle....Amazon offered the best pricing when I bought it...

Have only had this light working for about two weeks but have already had inquiries from several neighbors who want to get rid of their gas Lights. I think the light produced is fine; not enough to read by but good enough to keep from falling over something in the dark.
