These LEDs are bright and exactly the color you see in the picture. Pay careful attention to the color though, because it is orange. "Amber" also does describe the color because I have a pair of amber sun glasses and they are nearly the exact color (when white light shines through them) as the lights. The color is much warmer than "candle flame color" as advertised, however. I would have preferred a color the temperature of a candle flame.
The orange color, though not perfect, is vastly more pleasing and warmer than the "ice white" of typical LEDs. Also, the clear casing is very thick and high quality.
The only reason I don't give this product 5 stars is because the light is brighter in one direction (along the length of the rope) than the other. Look closely at the picture in the advertisement and note that the right side of the rope coils are brighter than the left side. That difference is not an optical illusion of the photograph but is indeed a true depiction of the relative intensity of the two directions.
The directionality of the light intensity is in itself not much of a problem, except that the power input is on one end, so the user has limited control over which direction the lights shine brightest (without resorting to long extension cords, etc). The lights shine brightest TOWARDS the side of the power input. For my particular application, it would be better if they were brighter in the other direction. This directionality to the light may be a general feature of LEDs, but the four stars I award is still considered a positive rating.

we had a new patio cover built and installed. we did not want a bug attracting lighting system. after shopping around this system is by far the BEST for the money. some companies want you to buy these as a kit marking them up HUNDREDS of dollars. trust me I sent them back. I had this professionally installed and wired to a switch. it works perfectly and does not attract bugs because of this color. you don't have to go to a lighting company, box store or home store of any kind like my wife did. we almost got ripped off. I simply checked here on Amazon found this complete system, IT WORKS PERFECT ! it also offers a true "low" lighting Halo effect that we get compliments on every time! here is a big plus, LED have a lifetime of about 20,000 hours & since these lites are in a trac type clip they will be easy to replace thanks to our electrician installing them correctly the first time. we also mounted them under/inside the lip of the patio cover to keep them away from all weather, and sunlight so no UV damage.
