These were purchased as replacement sensors for a 9 year old system. The new sensors were compatible with the old wall switch/transmitter. The older sensors were damaged by water (pressure washing) and leaking dry cells. The new ones worked as decribed when correctly configured and I tested them up to @ 60 feet. I can not speak to their reliability as time will tell. The obvious is to keep them dry and replace the batteries about once a year. If I were doing a new install, I'd hardwire instead of wireless............but then, I'm old fashion and like to do it once and forget about it.

Works as it is supposed to. I have it mounte on a tree near the front walk and another by the drive way. The receiver is in the wall controlling the front lights of the house. If anyone walks up the front walk or comes up the driveway, lights go on!

Never have surprise visitors again. This alert lets you know when someone pulls in the drive. Not so great on windy days, though, as branches, etc also set it off.
Honest reviews on Heath Zenith SL-6030-WH-A 180 Degree Wireless Motion Sensor, White
Had one for 5+ years remember nothing lasts forever. When they begin to fail they act flakely, The other problem which can be solved is this unit is used out doors, open to the elements. One has to remember that for the price the manufacturer is going to make it so it works but not necessarily totally element proof, I found this and other like items the circuit board will corrode due to weather salt or polution, the best way to handle is to open it up and coat the solder contacts with a sealent I believe clear nail polish will work re assemble re sealing the edges of the cover when it closed back up. This is the reason why marine electronics are very expensive as they are sealed otherwise they would not last

when I broke the existing motion sensor, I shopped all the usual stores before checking online. At purchase I wondered if there might be compatibility issues, but I was and continue to be pleasantly surprised. After setting the switches to the same positions as the original, everything worked and I was sold on this replacement.
