Bought this bulb to use in a light post during Christmas. The string of lights we have wrapped around the post gives off more light than this bulb. We didn't expect/need much light output, but this is almost worthless and the colors aren't very accurate. The only use I can see for this bulb would be in a teenager's room as a toy. May try again in a few years and see if the technology improves.

I bought 5 of these for my bar. I can't even begin to tell you how awesome they look. Not only does it add attractive mood lighting but, draws compliments from the patrons. I LOVE THESE THINGS! Only bad thing, is that if you can't see the bulb directly, i.e. it's in a fan globe or behind a lamp shade, you have to be much closer to the light to use the remote control. It's only good for about 7-10 feet. Doesn't bother me though! The other things I should mention about these guys is that they probably work best in a darker environment. When we're in the bar cleaning during the daytime, their light really doesn't make any substantial difference. These are much dimmer than the spot bulbs. Also, they are very LONG. We could not get these to fit inside our smaller fan light globes. They're about the length of the old 100w incandescent bulbs.

I use it for a night light in a dark hallway. Works great uses low amounts of juice. I can leave it on all of the time or shut it off with the handy remote. Works great. Love it

I really got this as a joke, but found I liked having a remote control for the light. If I turned it on at the switch, it went into color changing flash mode which startled anyone who turned it on. I finally replaced the sconce and haven't used it again. But I've still got it if the need arises. I thought I might put it in the security lights out front. It would certainly get attention.
