I bought this product as a less expensive option to Ottlite replacement bulbs. These emit a noticeably more yellow light vs. the Ottlite 'white' light. I do not know how this will contribute to eyestrain, but for now the savings are considerable.

UPDATE: The first bulb failed after 45 days. It became noticably dimmer and began to flicker as they do when they need replacing. The original Ottlight bulb lasted almost three years. 45 days suggests it is defective.

Update II: All 4 of these bulbs failed within 3 months. If I could reduce the evaluation to zero stars, I would. These bulbs were never bright, and in the end, I consider them garbage at any price.

Update III: I junked the Feit bulbs and bought the Sunlight brand here instead. The quality is significantly better: bright white light instead of the darker yellowish tint of Feit. I get the impression that all these less expensive Ottlite wannabe 13W bulbs are made in the same Chinese factory, but Feit is selling 2nds that were discarded by the manufacturer.

We'd been looking for white-light fluorescent bulbs for a while, and this is the cheapest per bulb we could find. We changed all the yellow-ish bulb in our house, and we are satisfied.

I had read the reviews for this item and was left uncertain if it would work for me. I decided to gamble with it and this bulb did work as it was supposed to for my Ott Lite Universal Craft Lamp Ott-Lite Truecolor Universal Lamp...

I see no reason why it would not work with other 13W lamps by Ott Lite with a PL 13 connector.

I have no idea about the longevity of the bulbs.

Im just happy that the bulbs with the great price worked, and wanted to share that with you.

I bought this junk as back up to the lamp bulb that came in the swing arm desk lamp I ordered. The OEM bulb lasted about 8 months and fell apart when I removed it from the socket. I plugged in my 1st of this 4 pack, it flickered and I heard it trying to light that is most common to a fluorescent light, then it caught and lit. The light was as bright as the oem. The problem is, it lasted 2 days. Inserting the 2nd bulb in the pack and it wouldn't light at all. On to the 3rd light in the pack and it wouldn't light until I tapped it lightly with my fingers. The light is so dim its barely 7 watts much less the advertised 13. I've checked other sources online and this lamp sells for 4.85 EACH. What kind of quality is expected when 4 are sold for 8.95? I use the word junk only because I can't use the adjective that fits this product!
