As an author who gets many creative ideas after the time most consider a "Normal" bedtime (at least when my wife defines as normal around midnight! go figure!) I'm the most creative for an hour or two after midnight. This review is supposed to focus on the device's effectiveness as a reading helper. I do read with it and it works very well at that, but keep in mind that it is far more difficult for a device to shed enough light for writing than reading. Net net it's a super duper light.
I have purchased several reading-writing lights akin to this model some of them are even Mighty Brite products. Those are bright enough no problem there, but I find them limited for my purposes in their design compared to this model. As a veteran user, this is hands the make and model to pick up. I plan to buy a couple of these as Christmas gifts.
