This light KILLS! It's CRAZY bright, fairly focused beam (spillover is there but not a flood, with no harsh definite edge on the spot pattern).
The switch can easily be set with heavy gloves on, and the battery can be pulled and run with alkaline AAs if needed.
Charger lets you use it as a charger base or a holder by having two sets of stops. I have the charger unit it in the back of my Excursion mounted vertically...no rattles and always ready to go.
I have a Bullard USRX helmet coming and hopefully the universal helmet mount will fit!

Though I did not get my Pelican 2460 Flashlight from Amazon,I wish I had!I could have saved a LOT of money!I got mine direct from a Pelican dealer -even at today's prices,I would have saved a lot of money{I got mine back in 2005,some 2 years BEFORE I got my first computer.At that time,I had never even heard of Amazon}.I first came to know about Pelican flashlights through using one of their photographic equipment cases.Photograhers who use Pelican cases know that these things are virtually indestructible and protecting expensive photographic equipment is no problem for these cases.When I found out Pelican also makes flashlights,I decided to look into getting one.Their were two things I was looking for in a flashlight -first,it had to last{no problem with Pelican}and second,I wanted one that DIDN'T use batteries!I was tired of replacing batteries in flashlights!So I looked for one of their rechargeable flashlights and found one in the 2460 flashlight.These are just the size I need -about 7 inches long,lightweight{1.5 pounds}and don't use ANY batteries!All you do is charge them-up when the light starts getting dim and you're back to full power!NO MORE BATTERIES to replace!And bright? These things are like the sun{only they produce a white light}.They're not just bright,they LIGHT UP the darkness!You'll have no problems seeing with one of these flashlights!As is the case with Pelican's photographic cases,these things too are virtually indestructible{you can even take them underwater to a depth of 500 feet}!If you're thinking these flashlights are expensive -they are -for a flashlight!At Amazon,you'll pay about $80.00 for them{which is low compared to getting them at a retail store} -but you won't have to get another flashlight either!These things will last for years and years.And if you ever do need to use the warranty on them -no problem -they come with a lifetime warranty!In fact,recently I had to use their warranty.The flashlight fell-off a ridge from about 7 feet up onto a thinly carpeted floor.The LED light inside broke-off and of course the flashlight would not work.I contacted Pelican,told them what happened,they gave me an RMA number to send the flashlight to them and they sent me a new flashlight!The only thing you have to pay for is the shipping to send the flashlight to them and a check for $3.00 for return shipping -the new flashlight itself is free!So their lifetime warranty really does work!As should be clear from my review here,Pelican flashlights are great!They last,are virtually indestructible,are very bright and lightweight and if you do need their warranty,it lasts a lifetime!I would recommend these flashlights to anyone!
