I notice that the previous reviewer says that this bulb is too short. I just compared it to a GE PAR20 50-watt halogen, and the two are almost exactly the same length. If you need it to project farther, hardware or lighting stores do make extension adapters which effectively make the bulb an inch or so longer. I tried using this bulb with one of these adapters, but it projected too far out from the fixture, which made for too much side glare. Without the extension the bulb is well recessed in the fixture, and works just fine.
The specs say that the bulb is 2700k. I'd guess that it's very close to that, but it does have just a hint of the bluish LED tint. But not much of a hint, as my significant other hasn't registered any complaint with this bulb above the stove, and she hates blue-light-special LED's.
So I'm quite happy with this bulb, and plan to order more, as we have 9 PAR20 fixtures in our kitchen. Yes, they're expensive, but they have a 20-year life expectancy, and use one-fifth of the electricity that a halogen bulb uses.
Addendum: After installing a second one of these bulbs in the kitchen, a couple of notes: first, this bulb is not quite as bright as a 50-watt halogen. Bummer. Why couldn't they make it a direct replacement for a 50-watter? And second, I have my doubts that it is actually 2700K color temp. Comparing the light to a halogen bulb in the next fixture, the halogen puts out noticeably warmer light. But is the slightly warmer halogen worth 5 times the energy use? Your call. I've lowered my rating from 5 to 4 stars because of the lower and bluer output.

These LED light bulbs are a very good replacement for 45W or 50W incandescent bulbs. The color is very warm, and hard to distinguish from the bulbs they replaced. They don't dim nearly as low as incandescent bulbs, but that is to be expected from LED bulbs. My main gripe is that they are a good inch shorter than a standard R20 bulb. This means they don't fit in all of the recessed lighting cans in my house (too short by about an 1/4 inch), and thus don't make contact electrically. I will be looking for other LED bulbs to fit in those.
