The light color and pattern coming from this bulb are great, virtually identical to a regular 75 watt bulb. However it uses only 18.5 less than 1/4. With the longer life meaning one will not have to but replacement bulbs and the lower electricity usage breakeven does not take too long. Put this bulb in a place that is on for extended periods every day and it could start paying benefits in 3 years.

I need to say it again the color of this bulb is spot on. My wife likes it and wants me to get more.

I also expect that as more and more people buy these and as manufacturing is improved the price will drop.

This is a great light bulb, but it is heavy. Doesn't seem to be a problem in my fixtures though. It comes in a nice box that's not hard to get open. The light quality is very nice, slightly whiter than the 100W incandescent that I replaced, but really only noticeable when they're running next to each other. It's quite bright, objectively it seemed as bright as the 100W incandescent next to it, even though this one is said to only be 75W equivalent. It works well with a dimmer, smooth ramping, but a little bit of flicker at the lowest settings. It does suddenly cut out at the bottom of the range though instead of a smooth dim to black like an incandescent.

It does get hot after running for awhile, but this says it's rated for fully enclosed fixtures, so I guess it's not a problem. Just don't grab it right after having it on for awhile. I have to take issue with the price though. When it comes down by half it'll be five stars.

Bulb came in a very nice and well engineered box. The bulb itself has some weight to it, but does fine being installed with the socket up. The bulb is absolutely beautiful to look at off and on. The color of the light is the same as a regular warm temp bulb. The bulb does work with a dimmer switch. Can't wait for the price to come down on these so I can fill my house with them! Very happy with my purchase! I only gave this four stars because of the price. If they can get it below HALF of what it is at now, it will be a five star bulb.

Fascinating engineering and design. Works in enclosed fixtures. Can't get enough. They keep selling out. Great for difficult to reach fixtures, they last decades.

I got these at $40, and now at almost $80 I'm not sure they are worth it anymore. Sure they are bright, but cheaper ones can be found at major stores locally for about $25. Sure they are liquid filled and may be more durable in high temp area or enclosures, but you pay for that durability. I've had it for over 6 months now and the bulb still dims and is very bright and instant on.
