Several weeks ago my vehicle was ransacked in my own driveway during the night. They got everything from jumper cables to in-dash CD player. One of the first things I did the next day was to get on the internet to find a motion sensor security light. The only light I could find that didn't require hardwire installation by an electrician was the Cooper MS100PG. After checking out it's specs, I ordered it. When it arrived a week later I installed it on the front of my garageeasily slipping the power cord between the wood siding above the door and screwing the light to the center post above the garage door springs. I did need it to go further than the 8' cord provided , so I found a grounded extension cord the same size and gauge of wire to get to the power outlet inside the garage. After running the wire across and down to the outlet, I wrapped the connection to the extension cord in electrical tape. I followed directions as to setting and placement and from that evening on I've had a dependable light that goes on every time something comes within range. I highly recommend The Cooper MS 100PGit was exactly what i was looking for

Very easy to install, could use a gap in case you would like to sink the cord. The controls for timing and lighting are terrible--it seems like one end MAY (MAY!) have a small arrow--but one can not be sure so it is a crap shoot when you try to set the timings. The "directions" are useless. Once you get done the guessing games it is a great product, just expect to spend a few more hours setting and testing out different settings than you expect to. We set up three units with three different settings to get the same result, by the way. Now I love them though i did photograph each setting for future reference :)

just bought in april 2012, a little trouble figuring out how to get it going... but i will tell you how..set both switches all the way to left ..{test mode}..then switch right switch to moon setting for the night setting.. then adjust timer..left switch.. for how long you want it to stay on and you r all set..all the way to the left is the test mode and will stay on all the time until you switch it to the moon setting after testing.. picks up motion to 40 feet as advertised ..

I bought this product because our neighborhood had been robbed of Xmas decorations and I didn't have the time to have lights hard wired. I have a camera system and infrared night vision is not the best resolution so this seemed like the right idea to protect our decorations. I bought two and opened them and the directions were very clear...use a small screwdriver to rotate the light control, the one that activates the light at dusk, and the time control, the amount of time you want the light to be on when it is triggered, up to 12 minutes. You plug in the light for the first time with the two control knobs set all the way to the left, and the light stays on when you plug it in for about 2 minutes and then goes off, THEN you set the control for the time the light stays on and the time of day that you want it go be on, as far as how dark you want it to be, I.E. before dusk or after it gets dark. It even has an adjustable sensor pod that you can point for situations like a tree that has branches that move when there is wind and might trigger the light, so you can point it a little down to not monitor that area. You can also bypass the automatic system by unplugging the light and waiting 2 seconds and then plugging it back in, then it stays on all the time after it gets dark, for whatever reason you might want to do that.

I have had these working now for the last two days and they have been great, the distance is phenomenal, it is about 50 feet from where it is mounted to the sidewalk and it turns on when anyone walks by on the sidewalk, so in that regard you can't ask for more of a range. I put the lights on a separate timer so right when the Xmas lights go off it turns these lights on, and it has made a big difference in the detail my cameras can pick up.

Again, please know that directions are to be read and they are not wrong or useless, like some directions that I have used that are not worth the paper, or whatever material they used to print them on.
