I have tried about six different LED night lights in the past three years, looking for the best energy saving replacement to the standard 7 watt incandescent bulb. I've probably spent more on the lights than I have saved on the reduced electricity consumed by the LEDs. The biggest problem I've found is the LEDs tend to dim after a period of time.

I've had these Leviton lights a few weeks and I like them the best so far I consider them a direct replacement for incandescent. The light is marked 0.5 watts on the base. The bulb is a milky nub about half an inch tall rising from the white base, behind a shade that is clear, etched plastic that diffuses the light somewhat. When lit it gives off a soft, white glow like neon at about the same intensity as a 7 watt incandescent. I have them in bathrooms and hallways but not in my bedroom because I prefer a more diffused light in there. The lights tend to remain on until a regular light is turned on in the room or the day is bright. Importantly, they do not flicker in low light conditions as some night lights do.

We'll see if these dim over time. I'm buying more now though.

I wanted economical night lights, and by economical I mean low in cost to buy and operate. Unfortunately, most LED lights have funky colors, even the "white" appearing more an other-worldly blue.

These lights are excellent LED with true white light. They are just enough to light your way, yet not jolt you awake if you make a middle of the night bathroom run. The sensor works well, lighting up or turning off when appropriate. We have one in the hall and in every upstairs room, and are pleased with the unobtrusive look and the light's appearance and operation.

I bought these LED's as I wanted to have light when walking around the house when it was dark etc.

They all work but two of them are odd, even when there is day light they still are on and even if I turn on the bedroom light they are still lit up. The rest do switch off when the sun is out or if the bed room light is switch on.

Perhaps I got two faulty ones. They do a good job of lighting up the rooms when it is dark so I would recommend them.

Honest reviews on Leviton 48561-W .5 W, 120 V, Automatic On/Off LED, Night Light

I wanted to illuminate some nighttime dark areas. I gave this a 4 star rating, since it does a pretty good job. However, I prefer another night light that I ordered at the same time as this one. That would be the Maxxima MLN-10, primarily due to its

directional light housing. This one works "OK", and I am using it in several rooms, but it is not as bright nor as versatile at the Maxxima. That's my opinion and experience. Hope this is helpful.

I'm about to purchase my third set of these night lights! They are just what I needed in my hallways and bathrooms. They give off zero heat, but provide nice lighting (bright white led.)

Some of the rooms get adequate daylight to turn off with the built-in sensor, but some do not. Who cares? Saving a lot of electricity! I did the math and you could hook up at least 10 of these for the same amount of electricity as a SINGLE standard 5-watt night light. WOW! I like that.

I've heard that these LEDs dim over time. I will come back and update when I notice any dimming. Supposedly, these can last up to 100,000 hours. By my math, that's over 10 years at 24 hours a day! I'd be thrilled if they lasted that long!

Just so you know, these also look great plugged in upside down for nice floor lighting, particularly near lighter colored surfaces (counters, tiles, carpet, etc.)
