This great little bulb is actually even better than the one that came with the fridge. At first we were worried because it arrived wrapped in brown-paper-bag paper and a bubble envelope, I do believe it was, instead of a more protective box, but it was unharmed and works great, shines brightly and has made us satisfied customers who can once again see inside the glasses we're filling with ice and water from our refrigerator's dispenser area. No more overflows or guess work.

No light in my fridge for years. I tried a bulb from home depot and it did not work. This was suggested to me when I was getting a new water filter. Showed up today. BAM, finally light at the water dispenser...

Used as occasional night light and only lasted 3 weeks.

Much shorter than the original bulb's life.

Not worth replacing unless bulb is improved.

New frig.with the dispenser with light. The bulb lasted four (4) months ok bought a new bulb on 2/5/12. In the evening we use it as a night light so to speak it's a good light source for such a small bulb. Today is 3/6/12 and two nights ago it went out last one did same thing but when I took it out and lightly flick it put it back in it worked. The original bulb lasted for aprox. another week or two and stayed out. Wonder how much more life is left on this one? This is a single element bulb I could not find them except on internet. That's even ok but they need to make them last longer. Why does GE make it so only a single element bulb will work?

Maybe it's the new frig. wiring etc. would like other input on bulb?

Well 3/15/2012 it went out and did not come back one. Not bad lasted 1 month and 10 days. After the initial outage the time line is way to close to be a coincidence.

Very sad I liked having that light. I am going to do a little research to find out if another type of bulb will work.

This is going to sound strange, but this bulb has a better life than the one that came with the fridge new. Sure, they are both made by GE so maybe I had a bad initial one.

There's nothing really sexy about a fridge light bulb, except this one works and is the correct size / model for your GE fridge. The price + shipping of about $5.50 here at Amazon is a whole lot less than the $14.99 special order from Home Depot.
