1) From the other review here I was concerned that this light may not throw enough light. YIKES! I wouldn't use this light to illuminate a huge room but it throws off a TON of light with both tubes on. If you were in any way not considering this light because of the "too dim" comment from the other review, don't let that stop you! This makes me wonder if the other reviewer had both tubes turned on (they're on individual switches) or if his light was somehow defective.
2) I was looking for a worklight that threw a good amount of light, that DID NOT use a battery so I could skip all of those battery related issues, and that was TALL so I could put it on the floor and have it illuminate things clearly that were 4-5' off the ground. I was really looking for a tripod as well for stability. From my very brief experimenting this light appears to satisfy all these requirements although the tripod will require some fiddling with before it acts as a stable base.
3) This light comes with a seriously thick and long cord and has an outlet on the base of the light to plug other items into (it claims you can draw up to 13 amps this way).
Initial impressions -wow, great light, just what I was looking for!
As I use the light I'll update the review.

The lights themselves work great and the housing seem rugged enough. All the hooks and stands are very delicate. After one room renovation, the stand lost a leg and both of the lights had lost a hook or two. We resorted to just hanging the lights from bungee cords. I'd gladly pay a little more and have some heavy duty hooks built into the light.Still, these lights got the job done. I wanted to avoid leaving my 1000 watt halogen light on during the whole project, these definitely helped.
