I recently had a very frustrating experience with replacing the generic porcelain pull-chain ceiling light fixture in my pantry (you know... the ugly, white kind that just has a bare light bulb screwed into it). Yes, those things only cost about $5, but they are a royal pain to replace since they don't have any lead wires coming off of the fixture itself (and in my case, the wires in my junction box were very short).

So, when the fixture in one in my closets also started having problems turning off/on by pulling the chain, I decided to look for an alternative that would not only be easier to install, but also more attractive. That's when I came across this little gem! Not only is it the perfect size (and very easy to install), it's also a major style upgrade and is available in several finishes. All of my house hardware is oil-rubbed bronze, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it was available in that finish!!

If you're hesitant to spend the extra money on this fixture over simply replacing your ugly bare-bulb thing, trust me... it's TOTALLY worth it!! In fact, I just ordered three more to replace the fixtures in my other closets.

And just FYI... this same fixture is available at several other places online, but Amazon's overall price is the best (at least at the time of this review).

Works perfect in my walk in closet. Looks pretty good, and hides away in the closet so it really doesn't matter that much. The only CON about this is at times it takes a few pulls to get the light to come on. Something just doesn't click right inside. But for the price that's really no big deal.

I needed a hall light that did not always go on when the porch light did,(both are wired together)it would have cost a nice dollar to seperate the porch light from the hallway light. When I found this light fixture on Amazon, I was delighted; It not only workes well for my situation, but it is great looking too. A bargain at the offered price and was easy to insatll. This replaced an old chandelier type hanging lamp in an old Mobile Home Kitchen! What a difference and what an upgrade!! Was easy to install and works well and looks "with it". Also easy to clean and doesn't take up much room.
