Nice product, but the motor is noisy, and if tipped over, the water will leak out. A prior one that we had, had a much quieter motor.

My sons loves this "fish lamp." They sleep with it every night and claim they can't sleep without it. It has a rhythmic hum that they like and find soothing. They are now 12 yrs. & 10 yrs. old. I have purchased 2 of these. They last approx. 6 months with constant use, including some daytime use (when they forget to turn it off in the morning). I am now purchasing one for my 7 year old son.

We bought this for my sons under the sea themed bedroom. He absolutely loved it, as did we, in the beginning. After a couple of months it started to leak and the water would disappear!! If you do purchase this, don't expect it to last longer than 6 months to a year.

One of the fish wouldn't move from the bottom of the aquarium although we had carefully followed all directions to set up including the use of filtered water. We first saw the aquarium lava light in our doctor's waiting room and thought it would be the perfect gift for two different sets of grandchildren. Well received by both families and one little grandson likes to turn it on to help him fall asleep. Maybe we the grandparents should consider treating ourselves to an aquarium lava lamp!
