unit just arrived. when i installed the batteries the switch was already set for stobe and was pointing at the mirror in my room. I still can't see out of my left eye. in a totally or even modestly darkened enviornment this thing will incapacitae a intruder immediately. getting a 2nd unit and box of batteries.

Cheap Princeton Tec Impulse Multi purpose Light Red LED (Black Body)

I purchased this light to replace an older one whose batteries would have cost me about half the price of this one. The older one had a difficult and temperamental switch, and was very user friendly. This one has a nice switch that works well, and is multifunctional. It has a snap ring so I can easily remove it from my keyring.

Really, no down side. I plan to purchase two more with the white light (the one I purchased is red for maintaining my night vision).

The best LED key chain light I have owned. The Princeton Tec Impulse offers 3 different light intensities among other options and is easy to turn on and off. The only problem is that the clip open a little too easily. I lost mine after 6 to 12 months so I tried the Princeton Tec Pulsar which is inferior to this product by far. If I ever buy another LED key chain light, it'll be the Prince Tec Impulse.

I love red LED lights for use during the night because you don't lose your night vision after your eyes have adjusted to the dark. It's great in the house when you need to get up in the night, when camping, and in the field (I'm a biologist). Red light also doesn't attract bugs like white light another plus for use outdoors. This light has 3 light levels and then different flashing speeds for signalling. Works great. Can clip to a belt loop or even to a hat since it comes with an adapter for that.

I bought two of these a year ago for dusk-to-dawn lighting on my farm. Both were installed by a professional licensed electrician. One worked for 3 weeks before the bulb burned out, and the other for 6 months, going bad in cold winter weather. Compared to the old mercury fixtures I used at my previous farm that worked reliably for years on end, these are bitter disappointments. Read the fine print. They won't start at temperatures below 30 degrees, and they are made in China despite the name Lights of America. Today I bought two replacement bulbs ($10 each), and neither works at all! I don't know if it's faulty bulbs or the fixtures themselves or the photocells, but I advise spending more money and buying a better quality product with a longer lifespan--and made in America if you can find one!

The savings in electricity won't compensate for the short life, high bulb replacement costs, aggravation of going up and down the ladder often, and overall poor quality of this product.

Three years ago we purchased a light just like this one and the cencer went out so we had to find another. We looked around and couldn't find one like we wanted. One day I was searching in Amazon and happened to find this one just like we had. Ordered it and when we got it my husband put it right up. Until these folks come up with a longer life bulb, any energy savings will be lost on the cost of replacement of a very short lived bulb and expensive bulb replacement. NOwhere in the literature is the anticipated life of the bulb stated, listed, specified , or advertised. Why? because thats where the savings end. At between $10-13 replacement per year, over 50% of the total fixture cost, the green idea translates to reducing the green in your wallet. Other fluorescent tube types such as T12 and T8 are built for lengthy service with similar ,now digital ballasts. Not so , with this LOA product. Its designed to put the green in their pockets...not yours. So, once again its Caveat Emptor. A great idea soured by the greed for profit. For me, its back to the dependable and long lived sodium halide 75Watt by Regent or others. Those savings by not having to frequently climb the dusk to dawn ladder for frequent replacement outweigh any potential upfront savings. Energy like this comes with a price you must pay for in terms of high replacement costs.

Everything worked right out the box (mangled box wasn't ecstatic about the packaging). My only complaint is that the lighthouse leans just a little bit. Other than that, everything seems to be great. The light won't illuminate your backyard, but you can tell it's on.

I bought this lighthouse to decorate the garden. It worked great for about 3 weeks till the first rain storm came, then it no longer worked. Rain water had leaked in through the "Lamphousing" and then flooded the battery compartment. The company who put this together used hot glue seal everything together which didn't hold up. Hot glue isn't what you would want to use on this outdoor item, a silicone sealant is. I took the lighthouse apart as the "Lamphousing" pulls right off and the battery compartment can be poked right out to dry everything out. Once dried, I then resealed everything and it's been working great ever since.

The product works as described. The night light is very bright, and the buttons are easy to use. We've had it about a week and my kids love it so far. I chose this one because of the plug in feature-no batteries and counter-space needed.

It arrived with the sticker showing what button is for what function separating from the case its self, not by much, but enough to annoy me. I am curious as to how long it will stay on since it is in a bathroom that 3 kids share.

The packaging and the product look cheaply made. Had I seen it in store, I probably wouldn't have bought it unless it was under $3.00.

This product is great a night light and timer combo that really encourages my kids to brush much longer than they have been. It also reminds them to spend a little longer washing their hands. They love to turn the overhead light off and watch the timer when they brush and there's an automatic night light for late night bathroom visits. And it doesn't need batteries!!!!1

I have only had this for a couple of weeks (according to other reviews, that is generally when this little gadget decides to quit working), but I LOVE it. My son was always brushing his teeth in the kitchen so he could time himself on the oven or microwave and now I don't have to clean up toothpaste in the kitchen anymore. I was a little skeptical about these lights because the package box looked damaged. Once I ran the wire (75 ft) and installed the lights, I waited patiently for the sunset. The lights came on and I was very pleased with the lighting effect. My neighbors were too, I got 3 compliments that same night. Because of the size of my yard I will probably have to buy extra lights. I wish the set came with two more path lights or one of each. I used the set for about 12 linear ft and that's about as far you want to space the 4 path lights. That means 4 ft on center but that's my preference. The spot lights were installed randomly.

After reading good reviews, I bought 12 coach lights and three spots. Worked for 8-9 months before they started to fail. LEDS appear to be OK but fixtures contain a circuit board that has become corroded and failed. Malibu offers no fixes... only to replace entire fixture at $35. Of the original 15 fixtures, only 5 are still working. Location is south Texas. Sandy soil with moist climate.

The lights look great, put out nice light and definitely will save money IF they last. Mine have been installed just over a year and my first coach light has failed. Just like the reviewer from Houston, it's the circuit board. However much money I am truly saving on electricity now appears will get eaten up by replacing the lights and/or circuit boards (which cost as much as a new light). Not cool Malibu! I have used the standard stuff from Malibu for the better part of 20 years, and will definitely be thinking about a different route when I am tired of replacing these poorly engineered lights.

I use this drop-in with my Surefire 6Z. (For the 6Z and probably others you'll want to leave out the big spring.) It produces more light than the original bulb, stays brighter longer, doesn't get hot after a few minutes, and won't burn out any time soon.

This replacement is a no-brainer, especially if you are replacing a burnt out "original" bulb, as it will pay for itself in a very short while.

BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've received from other reviewers and work hard to return the favor as best as I can. I ordered this item for my Surefire G2. When I received it I took off the large spring and placed it into the flashlight with amazing results. Without replacing the tailcap I was able to get all three brightness settings, the strobe setting and the SOS setting.

I bought this led bulb replacement for my surefire G2 nitrolon (65 lumen), which I have had for about 8 years. Although it does not shine brighter than my 6p led 120 lumen flashlight, (this claims 250+ lumens), this is by no means a weak led. The three light settings, including STROBE, was something that I didn't expect. The led replacement worked flawlessly mereley by changing the bulb assembly. Well worth the money.

I bought this product along with the wired in light switch nearly 6 years ago.

When the original owner of the house built a detached garage, he never ran a light control from the house. Consequently the light switch for the garage external yard lights only worked from inside the garage. This Heath Zenith combination was the easy answer. The transmitter remains in the house, and the light switch replaced the old wall switch inside the garage. The working distance is about 30 feet, but through masonry and brick walls. Despite the fact that the transmitter battery is stated to last approximately one year, it is still fine after daily use for nearly 6 years. (The main outdoor yard lighting need is for the dogs on their nightly excursions to the yard, so it gets used a lot.) Great product.

I purchased and installed in my shop so that my wife could turn on the yard lights every morning before she went out to feed our horses. Since we use CFL flood lights, she can turn them on before going outside allow time for them to warm up and get to full brightness before she goes out. @ 50 ft, it works good. beyond 50 feet, this control is "iffy"

My first bulb was installed in Dec 2007, and is still running fine as of Feb 2008. However, I installed my second bulb on a different socket (on the same circuit) 2 weeks ago, and it has already burned out. I called Feit to complain, and they insisted that they could not help me out because my bulbs don't have the model number printed on their base. After offering to read off the model number that's printed on my box (ie, 50PAR20/QFL), they were very reluctant to accept this info. Strange. Anyway, after ~10 mins or so, they eventually stated that they'll ship me a replacement, and that it should arrive in 4 to 6 weeks. Yup, 4 to 6 weeks! A Final Warning: Feit informed me that they don't normally offer replacements for bulbs purchased through online vendors. I guess I should consider myself lucky?

Too often, vent hood lighting is more for accent. The bright light feature of this bulb gives us the option of using this light beyond accenting the stove top.
